Ernest E. Washington, Jr. Recognized by Marquis Who's Who for Combat Gallantry and Entrepreneurship

Mr. Washington is a founding member of the social services organization Concerned Black Men of Massachusetts Inc., and has been recognized by the International Society of Business Leaders.

    MATTAPAN, MA, March 04, 2022 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Ernest E. Washington, Jr. has been included in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

Mr. Washington served his country with the United States Marine Corps during the war in Vietnam in various capacities, including the First Battalion, First Marine Division, the Western Pacific Ground Forces divisions, and military police. After he was wounded in action, he was awarded the Purple Heart and the Republic of Vietnam Gallantry Cross with Palm. For over 30 years, Mr. Washington has served as an advocate for veterans and was a founding member, treasurer and president emeritus for the board of directors at the Veterans Benefits Clearinghouse in Roxbury, a social service agency that provided services to veterans and their family members between 1977 and 2009.

Prior to embarking upon his professional journey, Mr. Washington obtained a bachelor's degree in management from Bentley University in 1973. Following this accomplishment, he attained a master's degree in public administration at Northeastern University in 1980. Mr. Washington is a distinguished alumnus from both Bentley University and Northeastern University.

In 1986, Mr. Washington established and remains the president and general manager of Vanguard Parking and General Services Corporation. The firm, which boasts locations at Northeastern University, Logan International Airport, State Street Bank and Roxbury Community College, all in Massachusetts, provides parking services and consulting on all parking-related matters, professional and efficient cleaning, and courteous reception and lobby services. Mr. Washington takes particular pride in hiring most of his company's employees from inner-city neighborhoods, believing that offering such opportunities empowers people, neighborhoods and communities.

Mr. Washington is a founding member of the social services organization Concerned Black Men of Massachusetts Inc., and has been recognized by the International Society of Business Leaders, an organization dedicated to connecting industry leaders with select business professionals. He attributes his success to his immediate family and the assistance of the United States military veteran community. In the coming years, Mr. Washington is planning to retire and finish writing his memoir, "Hill of Angels."
