DETROIT, MI, March 16, 2022 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Empowered Flower Girl (EFG), a social enterprise dedicated to transforming the way young people relate to one another and themselves, has evolved and expanded its mission over the years.
EFG Founder and Chief Empowering Officer Rasheda Kamaria Williams announced the company will continue to offer its bullying prevention and communication skills building workshops for students, but its priority for 2022 and beyond is forging partnerships and facilitating programs that support youth-serving organizations/individuals in the U.S. and globally.
At the onset of the pandemic, Empowered Flower Girl launched its Girl World Peace Academy, a self-guided virtual course and coaching program that provides teachers, after-school professionals, mentors and other youth advocates tips, tools and strategies to inspire sisterhood, increase self-esteem and encourage empathy among middle and high school girls. The course includes one-on-one coaching as well as video lessons covering topics ranging from empowering 21st century girls to templates and tools to increase awareness and publicity.
Why focus on girls?
After facilitating bullying prevention and empathy boosting programs for more than a decade, Rasheda has observed:
• Girls can benefit from having positive adult and even peer role models and mentors.
• Educators, who often are overwhelmed with conflict and drama in the classroom, may lack support and resources to address and solve it.
• There are numerous opportunities for us to give back and make a difference for young people in our schools and communities.
