Chiropractic Profession Elects New Leadership in Building the Healthcare Future

The Chiropractic Doctors Association of Hong Kong (CDAHK) installed a new leadership team during its annual general meeting. Eric Chun-Pu Chu, DC, MHA, PHD (Hon), and Rick Lau, DC, were re-elected chairman and vice chairman.



    NEW YORK, NY, March 30, 2022 /24-7PressRelease/ -- The Chiropractic Doctors Association of Hong Kong (CDAHK) installed a new leadership team during its annual general meeting. Eric Chun-Pu Chu, DC, MHA, PHD (Hon), and Rick Lau, DC, were re-elected chairman and vice chairman, respectively, by the CDAHK Executive Committees.

To raise awareness about chiropractic; the CDAHK has received 3 World Spine Day Awards this year, and a total of 16 WSD awards have been granted to CDAHK members since 2013.

"All participation of CDAHK members is driving the chiropractic profession in Asia. Together with our talented Executive Committees and the vast expertise in the subcommittees, we have great leadership inspiring the modern movement of chiropractic globally," commented Dr. Lau.

To increase evidence-based awareness in the healthcare community, 24 studies (1-24) were published in 2021 and 2022; and 35% of the studies reached the top 5% of Altmetric Score.

"They are crucial to increase the chiropractic research database, achieving our strategic goals such as building Hong Kong Chiropractic College, and usher CDAHK into a bright future," said Dr. Chu.

Dr. Chu has served the CDAHK since 2006. He led the profession in tripling its size and was described as the "BJ Palmer" (developer) of the profession in the country. He dedicates chiropractors in managing healthcare sectors such as insurance companies, medical universities, and hospital management. He has also advanced the research and is listed as the top case-report author. Dr. Chu leads the top management in medical companies along their entire value chain as the co-owner and chief business officer at EC Healthcare, Hong Kong's largest public-listed non-hospital healthcare group.

Dr. Lau has worked as the executive committee since 2014. He had led the association in achieving international awards and hosting major conferences. In addition to running a private practice, Dr. Lau supports ergonomic advice to many government departments.

Joining the six-member Executive Committees is Dr Kary Lam DC, who served as the immediate past chairman at the Hong Kong Chiropractic Council. The delegates also re-elected Dr Valerie Chu, who will continue as the Honorary Treasurer.

Drs Jacky Yeung and Kingsley Leung, will both continue their terms as Public Relation Committee and Education Committee.
