Mr. Freedman initially earned a Bachelor of Science in industrial engineering and a Master of Science in business and engineering from the University of Miami. After working in sales, he became the owner of Freedman's of Nantucket in 1981. His store began as a retail outlet for the wholesale company for which he worked f40 years ago. After 20 years in this position, Mr. Freedman decided to shift focus to selling his artwork on a full time basis.

An artist and craftsman, Mr. Freedman creates leather furniture designs, rugs, clocks, lighting fixtures, home accessories and other works. As part of his dedication to his career, he is a member of the Nantucket Chamber of Commerce. The shop is celebrated as a treasure of Nantucket, filled with expertly crafted works of art.

Having retired from sales, Mr. Freedman plans to keep working and developing his art. He especially brings his creativity and expertise to his clock making, while maintaining the unique appeal of his store. Mr. Freedman also dedicates more time with his two grandchildren.
