Catherine is the leader of the oldest family owned and operated funeral home in the State of South Carolina since 1865. Catherine's great-great grandfather, Henry D. Stuhr, established the company in 1865 and the company has continued with great pride on offering quality care of families during the emotional time surrounding the loss of a loved one. Stuhr Funeral Home provides various services to the community including advance planning, cremation, traditional burial options, full-time administrative after care and community grief support.

Catherine has been a Licensed Funeral Home Director with the company since 1993 and is an active member of the National Funeral Directors Association and the South Carolina Funeral Directors Association. She is a leader within the Selected Independent Funeral Homes network of independently owned providers.

She earned the degree of Bachelor of Science in PRTM from Clemson University and a Master of Arts from the College of Charleston. Catherine is the mother of an incredible set of twins – Alexander and Andrew McKellar who has stayed engaged with the community throughout her sons' youth and into their adulthood. Catherine comes from a bonded family through the enjoyment gained from the great outdoors of hunting, fishing and conservation.

Catherine is dedicated to community in many multi-faceted ways.

She is currently serving on the Board of Directors of East Cooper Community Outreach (ECCO) and is a charter member of the East Cooper Breakfast Rotary Club.

Catherine's zeal is of service to others in every aspect of her life.

Through the support of the Charleston Animal Society, Catherine envisions a world without cruelty, where all people and animals are treated with respect and kindness.

Just to name a few of Catherine's many passions – Catherine has been involved and supports the efforts of many causes such as the American Lung Association, Count the Kicks, Camp Happy Days, Palmetto Goodwill, Roper St. Francis Foundation/Roper Xavier Society, Star Gospel Mission, Friends of Fisher House Charleston, Palmetto Goodwill, Bridges for End-of-Life, Windwood Family Services, Lowcountry Children's Center, WakeUp Carolina, Arm-In-Arm, and American Foundation for Suicide Prevention.
