As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

For four years, Dr. George served as an intelligence officer in the United States Army. While earning a Doctor of Public Health at the University of Hawaii at Manoa in 1997, she decided to combine military intelligence with her studies to pursue a career in biodefense and national security. Dr. George has served with the Bipartisan Commission on Biodefense in Washington, D.C. since 2014, and as its Executive Director since 2019.

In her current role, Dr. George pays close attention to the United States government and its operations, and recommends strategies and programs to help prevent, deter, prepare for, detect, respond to, attribute, recover from, and mitigate biological events. Moreover, she addresses the development and deployment of biological weapons. Dr. George has contributed inimitably to the Bipartisan Commission on Biodefense, having created a recommendation for a national biodefense strategy that was taken up by the U.S. Congress, signed into law by former President Barack Obama, produced by former President Donald Trump, and still in use by current President Joe Biden.

For her renowned work, Dr. George has been lauded with numerous awards, medals, and recognitions. She has received the Army Commendation Medal, the Army Achievement Medal, the National Defense Medal, the Kuwait Liberation Medal, and a Southwest Asia Service Medal with Bronze Service Star. Likewise, she has earned several certificates of appreciation, including from the Federal Bureau of Investigation, as well as a National Asian and Pacific American Organization Award for Service and a Health Care Finance Administration Immunization Achievement Award. Dr. George holds a Bachelor of Arts in Natural Sciences, a Master of Science in Public Health in Parasitology and Laboratory Practice, and Doctor of Public Health from Johns Hopkins University, the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, and the University of Hawaii at Manoa, respectively.

Dr. George attributes much of her success to hard work, tenacity, and commitment. Looking to the future, she intends to stimulate the creation of government policies and programs that address naturally occurring diseases that impact national security, accidental releases of organisms from laboratories into the environment, biological warfare, and bioterrorism.
