The First Ladies of Disco (Retro Music Box) Tour 2022

The First Ladies of Disco (Retro Music Box) Tour is the highly anticipated live music event the country has been anxiously awaiting!

NEW YORK, NY, April 12, 2022 /24-7PressRelease/ -- The enduring appeal of worldwide pop hits like "It's Raining Men," "Dance, Dance, Dance" and "If My Friends Could See Me Now" is a testament to the powerful voices behind the supergroup First Ladies of Disco. The ensemble features the dynamic talents of legends Martha Wash, Norma Jean Wright, and Linda Clifford. During their high-energy tour, these exciting and accomplished artists will be belting some of their biggest signature hits along with other chart-breaking songs from the '70s, '80s, and '90s.

The First Ladies of Disco (Retro Music Box) kicks off its 13-city tour on May 4 in Las Vegas, the Entertainment Capital of the World. The show will also play Norwalk, CT, on June 30th, Columbus, OH, on July 2, and New York City on July 21st, with more dates to be added. Do-KWA Productions and Purple Rose Records are presenting this tour.

First Ladies of Disco are well-known to fans who came up during the soul. disco dance music era. Two-time Grammy nominee Martha Wash recorded and performed the classic dance hits "It's Raining Men," "Gonna Make You Sweat (Everybody Dance Now)," "Everybody, Everybody," and "Strike It Up" for the groups The Weather Girls, C&C Music Factory and Black Box respectively. In the 1990s, Wash worked for legislation that made vocal credits on CDs and other recordings mandatory, after the singer's vocals had been misrepresented to the public. Today, Ms. Wash is an activist for her fellow musicians, while recording and touring as a solo artist extensively.

Norma Jean Wright was a vocalist with the legendary group Chic ("Everybody Dance") before embarking on a solo career that featured her hit song "Saturday," produced by Bernard Edwards and Nile Rodgers. She has worked as a vocalist for luminaries such as Aretha Franklin, Luther Vandross, Sister Sledge, Chaka Khan, and others.

Linda Clifford's hits include "Red Light," from the Oscar-winning movie "Fame," the blistering chart-topper "Runaway Love" and countless club hits. Her songs have spent a total of 60 weeks at No. 1 on the Billboard Dance Music Charts, and Clifford has been nominated for several awards.

On the tour, the First Ladies Of Disco (Retro Music Box) trio opens each concert with their recent electrifying top 10 Billboard hit "Don't Stop Me Now." The show itself is a tribute to the ageless sounds of an era, embracing disco, soul, R&B, pop, and funk. The First Ladies Of Disco (Retro Music Box) Tour also performs with guest artists. Special appearances on past tours have included Evelyn "Champagne" King ("Shame"), Thelma Houston ("Don't Leave Me This Way"), Cynthia Johnson ("Funky Town"), and many other esteemed artists.

This tour can accommodate venues of different sizes. All of the music for the performances is scored, and venue managers may choose a band with a five-piece rhythm section and backup vocalists, a 24-piece orchestra, or a full symphony orchestra. For concert halls and venues that allow meet-and-greet sessions with the performers, the best-selling book by James Arena, "First Ladies of Disco," will be available for sale and signing.
