SCARSDALE, NY, April 18, 2022 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Daniel M. Miller, MD, has been included in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

Dr. Miller serves as the medical director of the Electronic Intensive Care Unit (eICU) and Telehealth Center at Westchester Medical Center, where he is also an attending physician of critical care medicine. He is chair of the Code and Resuscitation Committee and serves on many committees, including the Critical Care Committee. He previously was a critical care attending physician at Bronx-Lebanon Hospital, after completing his critical care medicine training at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center and internal medicine training at Staten Island University Hospital/Northwell Health.

As a 9-year-old undergoing open-heart surgery, he was inspired to become a doctor by the pediatrician and pediatric cardiologist who helped save his life. Dr. Miller made a few detours along the way, first earning a BS in accounting and finance at the Sy Syms School of Business at Yeshiva University, then an AA degree in teaching from Yeshiva University. He worked as an accountant, handling mergers and acquisitions for PricewaterhouseCoopers, for three years before returning to school to fulfill his childhood dream. He attended the Sackler School of Medicine at Tel Aviv University, where he earned a doctor of medicine.

Dr. Miller takes great pride in his ability to connect with patients and their families, regardless of the severity of their clinical situation. He enjoys teaching residents and fellows, and he is known for his attentive bedside manner, deep empathy, and collaborative nature. Dr. Miller is dedicated to assisting his patients and his community in myriad ways. An example of this commitment came while caring for patients during the COVID-19 pandemic, when he served on a task force charged with improving communication between families and patients. He facilitated donations of iPads that were used to ensure patients could see their loved ones despite social-distancing regulations during this challenging time.

Dr. Miller believes the key to superior critical care treatment is in balancing quality and quantity of life for each patient. Likewise, he strives to balance his work as a physician with his roles as a husband and father.
