Dr. Kaur obtained a Bachelor of Medicine and a Bachelor of Surgery from Maulana Azad Medical College in India. Following this accomplishment, she traveled to the United States and completed a residency in general psychiatry at the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston and garnered additional experience by completing a fellowship in child and adolescent psychiatry at the State University of New York Downstate Health Science Center. Well qualified in her field, Dr. Kaur is board certified in psychiatry and in child and adolescent psychiatry, and has been renowned as a fellow of the American Psychiatric Association and distinguished fellow of American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry. She has published articles in nationally acclaimed scientific journals in the field of psychiatry and has been serving as a peer reviewer for several national and international scientific journals.
Throughout the course of her career, Dr. Kaur has held numerous roles in the medical field, including as an attending physician, the director of clinical services, as well as medical director. In addition she has served as an assistant professor in reputed universities in the country. In 2020, she was presented with the Physician Spotlight Award. In accounting for her success, Dr. Kaur attributes her consistency, perseverance and love for the field of psychiatry. She considers her most important career achievement to be caring for patients with compassion, in addition to teaching and training medical students and residents.
