A dedicated pastor, Pastor Garman has served as a leader in the Church of the Nazarene for more than three decades. To prepare for his career, he earned a Bachelor of Arts in biblical literature and a Master of Theology from Point Loma Nazarene University in 1985. He began his journey in spiritual leadership in Los Angeles, where he worked as a senior pastor for a local church and for the city of Capinteria. Pastor Garman went on to serve as a pastor with the Newhall Church of the Nazarene in Santa Clarita Valley for more than 20 years.
Since 2015, Pastor Garman has distinguished himself as the district superintendent for the Church of the Nazarene. In this capacity, he maintains the churches in his district and helps find and recruit new pastors when their predecessors retire. Pastor Garman also preaches and teaches in his role, while also planting around the community with his ministry in the Los Angeles area.
In accounting for his success, Pastor Garman credits his upbringing, as well as to the efforts of those who help support and participate in his missionary activity. Additionally, he is grateful for the influence of his parents, both of whom worked for more than 50 years as missionaries in their own right.
As part of his dedication to civil action through his church, Pastor Garman manages a fundraiser for missionary work in the Amazon and works with Jesus Film to translate their films from English into different native languages from around the world. He also supports international sponsorship programs for children in need. Looking toward the future, Pastor Garman intends to retire from his duties as a pastor and continue his missionary work as a volunteer.
