Danielle Saintard Valiente has found success as the owner and lead interior designer of Port City Design Group, Inc. since 2014. Now, Port City Design Group is a leading, full-service, multimillion-dollar design firm based in Wilmington, North Carolina. Providing her interior design expertise to clients in the residential and commercial sectors for new construction and remodels, Danielle also offers project management services. As a leader in her industry, Ms. Saintard Valiente collaborates with builders, architects and sub-contractors to ensure that the client is cared for through design, communication and execution. Danielle and her firm handle all material, finish and fixture selections in addition to designing the furniture plans and filling each home with custom-designed furniture, area rugs, lighting, art, window treatments and accessories. Danielle collaborates closely with her clients in order to deliver a "no design duplicated" approach to her turnkey design presentation, which includes a big reveal walkthrough just like the television shows.
Aside from her primary career in design, Ms. Saintard Valiente has invested money in real estate and currently owns multiple properties in the United States and Costa Rica. Danielle also has a love for writing. She has self-published a series of children's books, titled "Smunchkin Learns," which focuses on teaching children to embrace the power of loyalty, friendship and bravery. In 2020, Ms. Saintard Valiente wrote her memoir through Silver Linings Media, "180 Degrees: Emerging from Childhood Darkness." The book expounds upon her childhood growing up in an abusive household, facing homelessness, financial instability and numerous emotional struggles, as well as her long journey to success.
Serving her community, Ms. Saintard Valiente is a board member for Toastmasters Club which is an international leadership and public speaking organization and for the Cape Fear Literacy Council, which serves to help adults learn the English language. Additionally, she is involved with a local nonprofit organization, the Carousel Center, by organizing and leading an annual event that benefits children who have lived through domestic and sexual abuse. Ms. Saintard Valiente has notably been instrumental in raising over $100,000 for the Carousel Center, and she hopes to eventually design and build a place where such children can gather, acquire additional support and overcome their trauma.
A straight-A student in grade school, Ms. Saintard Valiente was accepted to Endicott College in Massachusetts where she graduated Cum Laude in 2010 and received a Bachelor of Science in interior design with a concentration in sustainable design along with a national accreditation from the Council for Interior Design Accreditation, also known as CIDA.
Celebrating her success, Ms. Saintard Valiente was honored by WILMA Magazine's Women to Watch Leadership Initiative as an award winner in the business category in 2018. She was also featured in articles by the WILMA Magazine, Cape Fear Living, Wilmington Biz, and Wrightsville Beach Magazine for her design expertise and passion for the industry as a young entrepreneur.
