In addition to receiving a Bachelor of Arts in mathematics and economics from Smith College and a Master of Business Administration from The University of Chicago's Booth School of Business, Ms. Yam has attained certification as a Chartered Financial Analyst, a Certified Financial Planner, an Enrolled Agent, a Certified Student Loan Professional, a Certified Exit Planning analyst, a Certified Valuation Analyst, a Chartered Life Underwriter and a Retirement Income Certified Professional.
Driven to remain aware of changes in the field, Ms. Yam has maintained her affiliation with the Business Council of Westchester, the CFA Institute, the Exit Planning Institute, the Mahwah Chamber of Commerce, where she is a marketing committee member, the Chinese CPA Association and the New York Financial Planning Association. She is most proud to be the Adjunct Professor at SUNY WCC who has taught a 10-week Personal Financial Wellness course in the last couple of years. She has also worked with local CPA associations in providing ongoing CPEs to CPAs. She is also an on-demand personal financial consultant for Zeiders Enterprises, Inc., a privately held, veteran-owned government contractor providing human services solutions to support military and veteran communities. Currently, Ms. Yam is looking to grow an online financial wellness program to teach this important concept using stories, trivias, and animated cartoons. Looking toward the future, Ms. Yam intends to continue to build financial wellness and help others do the same.
As the baby boomers are looking to exit, Ms. Yam's latest project is to assist business owners with planning their exit, how to grow and de-risk, and strategies to minimize profit gap, value gap and wealth gap.
Ms. Yam is also an enthusiastic piano player, an outdoor hiker, and loves to build models.
