Danielle R. Gilmore has been Inducted into the Prestigious Marquis Who's Who Biographical Registry

Ms. Gilmore is recognized for her career in public policy and research



    SHERMAN OAKS, CA, May 05, 2022 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Danielle R. Gilmore has been included in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

Committed to helping prevent public health crises and making sustainable change through policy, Ms. Gilmore focuses her research on phenomenology, the study of lived experience, to examine the impacts of policies and programs with an emphasis on minority populations. To prepare for her academic career, she earned a Bachelor of Science in public health from the University of Central Oklahoma in 2016 and a Master of Public Policy from the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health in 2018. She is now a candidate for a Doctor of Philosophy in public policy and administration from the George Washington University Columbian College of Arts and Sciences, set to graduate with the degree in 2022. She is also certified as a health education specialist by the National Commission for Health Education Credentialing Inc.

Ms. Gilmore began her career as a practicum student for the Muscular Dystrophy Association in 2014 before becoming an office of partner engagement intern for the Oklahoma State Department of Health in 2015. At the same time, she worked as an event coordinator for Main Event Entertainment until 2016. Furthermore, she was honored with the Bertha "Jackie" McCallum Award from the University of Central Oklahoma's department of kinesiology and health studies for her excellent academic work. Ms. Gilmore continued her career as a teaching assistant for the Johns Hopkins University in 2017 and a research assistant for the Center for Regional Economic Competitiveness in 2019.

Since 2016, Ms. Gilmore has excelled as a research assistant for the Hopkins Center for Health Disparities Solutions at the Johns Hopkins University Bloomberg School of Public Health. She has been additionally active as a graduate research assistant at the George Washington Institute of Public Policy since 2018. In recognition of her academic excellence, Ms. Gilmore was awarded a selective excellence fellowship from the aforementioned institution in 2018.

Additionally, Ms. Gilmore has been inducted into several professional organizations in celebration of her expertise and hard work. She is affiliated with the Edward Alexander Bouchet Graduate Honor Society, the National Society of Leadership and Success, the Association of Public Policy and Management and the Center for Culturally Responsive Evaluation and Assessment, among others. Currently, she is working on a research project involving an analysis of how federal government agencies purchase private data sets and use private data. Ms. Gilmore is also dedicated to two projects with Johns Hopkins, one of which concerns a study on the health of Black men and the other on how stress impacts mental health.

As part of her career, Ms. Gilmore has notably authored and co-authored several works. She co-authored "Is There a Difference in All-Cause Mortality Between Non-Hispanic Black and Non-Hispanic White Men With the Same Level of Education? Analyses Using the 2000–2011 National Health Interview Surveys," which was published in the American Journal of Men's Health in 2019, and "Study protocol of a randomized controlled trial evaluating the Prime Time Sister Circles (PTSC) program's impact on hypertension among midlife African American women," which was published in BMC Public Health in 2021. Ms. Gilmore likewise authored "The Role of Representative Bureaucracy: A Literature Review Examining the Academic Impact of Representation in Schools for African American and Latinx Students," which was published in the International Journal of Innovation and Research in Educational Sciences in 2022.

In addition to her main career, Ms. Gilmore utilizes her academic skills in her civil actions. She is a member and a past chairperson of the diversity, equity and inclusion committee at the George Washington Institute and served as a chairperson for the community service programs of the Beta Beta chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Inc. She was also recruited as a community consultant for the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health and the president of the Johns Hopkins University MPP Alumni Association since 2019. In recognition for her dedication to her community, Ms. Gilmore was awarded first placement for her research poster in diversity, equity and inclusion by the George Washington University in 2019.

Looking toward the future, Ms. Gilmore looks forward to earning her Doctor of Philosophy while continuing to improve her skills. She intends to work for a consultant firm where she can perform evaluations and interact with governmental agencies and regulatory bodies in order to create high level system changes needed to help the most people. Ms. Gilmore also aims to work as an adjunct professor at a university, training the next generation of people who will give voices to underserved populations.
