Robert L. Giron Celebrated for Decades of Success in Publishing and Education

Mr. Giron's company, the Gival Press, LLC, was the first to establish an award for LGBTQ poetry

For over 30 years, he served as a professor at Montgomery College, at which he served as the English department chairperson for several years and as an acting dean.

    ARLINGTON, VA, May 05, 2022 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Robert L. Giron has been included in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Since 1998, Mr. Giron has served as the successful owner, publisher and editor of Gival Press, LLC. His company has published over 100 books and eBooks in print, many of which have won national and international awards. Yearly, he presents writers with an Oscar Wilde Award, for outstanding literary work in the LGBTQ sector. Gival Press also presents writers, be they LGBTQ or not, yearly with an award for the best outstanding short story. In even years, an award is given for the best novel, and in odd years an award is given for the best poetry collection. Likewise, his company also includes an online literary journal, the Arlington Literary Journal, known as ArLiJo, which publishes art, fiction, nonfiction, photography and poetry by individuals from around the world.

Passionate about literature and writing, Mr. Giron obtained a bachelor's in linguistics and a master's degrees in teaching English / linguistics. He has also earned a certificate in literature from the University of Cambridge and completed training in communications and publications management. For over 30 years, he served as a professor at Montgomery College, at which he served as the English department chairperson for several years and as an acting dean. Previously, he served as the associate editor for the Asthma and Allergy Foundation of America and taught at El Paso Community College as a professor of English/ESL.

A prolific writer, Mr. Giron considers his greatest achievement, aside from helping aspiring writers and owning a longstanding literary press, as having earned the National Best Book Award for Fiction & Literature: Anthologies from USA Book News. He also was presented with the Faculty Outstanding Service Award from Montgomery College twice. He is a notable member of the Academy of American Poets, the Association of Writers & Writing Programs and the Authors Guild.

Mr. Giron attributes his success to tenacity and his dedication to following through with his ideas. In the future, he intends to finish his own major work of fiction.
