An expert in her field, Ms. Githui holds a certification in international trade management from Saint Louis University and a Master of Business Administration from Missouri State University. Additionally, she graduated in food science and post-harvest technology at Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology. In conjunction with her work, Ms. Githui is the founder of Project Goldfinger, a non-profit which seeks to improve the lives of women in rural Africa, and through various women organizations in Africa.
Though her career has been filled with highlights, Ms. Githui is most proud of speaking about an immigrant's journey and navigating the American system, as well as helping to support more than 220 artisans in Africa through Gitzell Fairtrade International. For her professional achievements, she was awarded the Saint Louis Immigrant Entrepreneur of the Year award in 2021. Looking toward the future, Ms. Githui aspires to become the number one supplier of handmade baskets in the U.S. and expand the organization in order to provide more opportunities for artisans.
