Alvin L. Hodges, LTC, U.S. Army (Ret.) Celebrates a Remarkable Military Career

Through his work with the U.S. Army, Lt. Col. Hodges hopes to inspire the next generation



Due to his strong sense of character, Lt. Col. Hodges advanced through the military ranks, serving as a lieutenant, captain and major before advancing to lieutenant colonel.

    COLUMBUS, GA, May 25, 2022 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Alvin L. Hodges, LTC, U.S. Army (Ret.) has been included in Marquis Who's Who. Lt. Col. Hodges attributes his commendable sense of resilience to his lengthy military career, for which he earned such awards as the Combat Action Medal, the Bronze Star Medal, and the Global War on Terrorism Medal. After growing up in a low-income area, he was motivated to succeed in his future goals and accomplishments, and found that success in the U.S. Army, which bestowed him with a Reserve Officers' Training Corps scholarship. For his 28 years serving the military, he was stationed in Fort Benning, Fort Knox, Fort Riley and Fort Stewart, as well as Iraq. Lt. Col. Hodges is grateful for his military experience, through which he learned invaluable interpersonal skills, as well as an awareness of a variety of cultures.

Due to his strong sense of character, Lt. Col. Hodges advanced through the military ranks, serving as a lieutenant, captain and major before advancing to lieutenant colonel, a rank that merely seven percent of hopefuls achieve. Though he retired due to a physical injury, he finds that his military training has helped in areas that extend beyond the professional. Notably, Lt. Col. Hodges' life-saving skills, learned in combat training, helped him save a civilian's life from heat stroke.

Lt. Col. Hodges was initially interested in the field of legal service, and earned a Master of Science in criminal justice and corrections from Troy University in 1989, following a bachelor's degree in history from the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff. He also completed coursework towards a doctorate at Walden University. A writer for Quora, Lt. Col. Hodges is also currently working on a potential memoir concerning his service with the U.S. Army, and hopes to set an inspirational example for a younger generation. He is a proud husband and father, and enjoys spending time with his family, as well as supporting such charities as the Veterans of Foreign Wars.
