Having initially begun his career in retail as a general manager for a local Western Auto, he has since accrued more than 35 years of proven leadership skills, including as the general manager and distributor for Ace Hardware. Over the course of his professional journey, Mr. Guillory has continually progressed as an entrepreneur, owning and operating businesses in portable building, lawn services and trucking.
An expert in policy, Mr. Guillory has served as a board trustee for the Port Arthur Independent School District (PAISD) in Port Arthur, Texas, since 2015. In 2017, Mr. Guillory earned his Master Trustee Certification in the State of Texas. In addition to reviewing various guidelines, he also implements changes for the betterment of the school and the community-at-large. Aside from his work with the PAISD, Mr. Guillory has been involved with the Port Arthur Economic Development Corporation (PAEDC) as a board director. The mission of the PAEDC is to enhance the overall business climate and economic development throughout the town. Mr. Guillory on March 1, 2022 won his election as Justice of the Peace by upsetting a three-term incumbent. This is the first seat by an African American, a history-making moment.
After graduating from high school, Mr. Guillory completed coursework in civil engineering at Lamar University in Beaumont, Texas. He credits much of his good fortune in business to his exemplary management skills and passion for other people, as well as his Christian faith. Mr. Guillory also draws inspiration from his past experiences, having witnessed many trials and tribulations firsthand. Looking toward the future, he aspires to serve as a mentor for the next generation of leaders.
