A frequent contributor to various periodicals, Mr. Etter has authored articles in The TV Collector, Big Reel and Filmfax. He has also contributed to the TV Land special "TV Land Moguls: The '60s," and the DVD collections "Here Come the Brides: The Complete Second Season," and "Mystery Science Theater 3000 Volume XXIII." During an earlier stage of his career, Mr. Etter researched and wrote the program notes for the Dayton Victory Theatre Summer Film Festivals of 1986 and 1987.
Mr. Etter presently has three book projects in development: "21 Years of Quality: A Behind-The-Scenes Episode Guide to the Television Series of Quinn Martin" (a follow-up to "Quinn Martin, Producer," with entirely new content); "Movie and TV-Movie Tales: Behind the Scenes of Fifty Fabulous Features from the 1930s, '40s, '50s, '60s, and '70s"; and "One-Season Wonders: A Behind-the-Scenes Episode Guide and Series History to Those Too Short-Lived Shows from the 1960s and '70s." Mr. Etter is also planning to compile a collection of interviews that he has conducted over the years into another book.
Before embarking upon his professional journey, Mr. Etter studied at Wright State University in Fairborn, Ohio, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts in history in 1983.
Mr. Etter has received acclaim for his research and work as a professional television and film historian and writer from producer Alan A. Armer, actor Efrem Zimbalist Jr., director Robert Butler, and many other talents in the industry. Crediting his father, Arthur, for introducing him to classic movies and television during his youth, and his mother, Ruthanne, for supporting and encouraging his endeavors every step of the way, Mr. Etter looks forward to continued success in "setting the record straight" and leaving a lasting legacy for generations to come.
