Vanessa Montoya, EdD, Celebrated for Dedication to the Field of Education

Dr. Montoya channels years of experience into her work with Evanston School District 65



She is a seasoned educator with a proven record of success in bilingual instruction and multicultural curriculum development.

    CHICAGO, IL, June 16, 2022 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Vanessa Montoya, EdD, has been included in Marquis Who's Who. Prior to embarking upon her professional journey, Dr. Montoya earned a Bachelor of Arts in elementary education with a minor in Spanish from Roosevelt University in 2003. Following this achievement, she began her career as a teacher for Mundelein School District 75. To further her expertise, she received a Master of Arts in curriculum and instruction from Concordia University in 2005 and a Master of Arts in Spanish language and literature from National Louis University in 2006. She subsequently started a role as a language teacher for Barrington School District 220 in 2008.

A seasoned educator with a proven record of success in bilingual instruction and multicultural curriculum development, Dr. Montoya served as a middle school teacher with Waukegan Community Unit School District 60 from 2012 until 2014. Throughout her career as a teacher, she has conducted guided reading, as well as tier 2 and tier 3 interventions, maximized parent and community involvement in the classroom, worked with other educators to help them reach their students more effectively and developed Spanish curriculum that encompasses the language and culture.

Supported by her professional expertise, Dr. Montoya presently excels as an adjunct professor at Olivet Nazarene University and as an instructional coach for Evanston/Skokie School District 65. In her work at Evanston, she collaborates with various teams to execute common core curriculum and provides professional development throughout the district. Over the years, she has expanded upon her educational knowledge by becoming certified in foreign language education through the Illinois State Board of Education and earning a Doctor of Education in educational leadership and administration from Walden University in 2021.

To remain aware of developments affecting her field, Dr. Montoya aligns herself with the National Education Association and the International Society of Female Professionals through which she was chosen as Female Educator of the Year in 2022. To commemorate her accomplishments, she was also named Teacher of the Year in 2005 and 2010. Known for her contributions as a civic-minded citizen, she volunteers through Feed My Starving Children and St. Alphonsus Church. Looking toward the future, Dr. Montoya aims to experience the continued success of her work with Evanston School District 65.
