The KOBA World Media Forum was held to highlight issues related to the domestic and foreign broadcasting industry.



    LOS ANGELES, CA, July 07, 2022 /24-7PressRelease/ -- The 30th Korea International Broadcasting, Media, Audio & Lighting Show (KOBA 2022) was held on the 29th at Exhibition Hall C, D and the Conference Center of COEX in Samseong-dong.

The opening ceremony was attended by; Vice Minister of Science & ICT Yun-gyu Park, Vice Chairman of the Korea Communications Commission Hyeong-hwan Ahn, President of the Korea Broadcasters Association Seong-je Park, KBS President Eui-cheol Kim, EBS President Yu-yeol Kim, CBS President Jin-oh Kim, Arirang President Dong-won Joo, OBS President Hak-kyun Kim, Chairman of the Korea Association of Sound Artists Jae-bum Park, Chairman of the Acoustical Society of Korea Seong-il Kim, as well as industry representatives such as SAMA GVC CEO Ki-hwan Ahn, Grass Valley Sales Director Richard Jones, and major foreign guest Sinclair Broadcast Group CEO Christopher S. Ripley, and the hosts Korea E&EX CEO Jeong-jo Kim, and Chairman of the Korea Broadcasting Engineers & Technicians Association Jong-ha Lee.

KOBA 2022, which runs until July 1st, brings together excellent broadcasting, media, audio, and lighting-related equipment from all over the world, and it provides an opportunity to display and introduce the advancements in the broadcasting, media, audio and lighting industry, that plays a pivotal role in the cultural industry, and presents competitiveness and vision to cope with the rapid flow of change.

At the KOBA 2022 many leading companies such as; KBS, Koil, Dongyang Digital, Visual Research Inc, Black Magic Design, SAMA GVC, Sanam Tech, Huawei Korea, ARRI, Canon, Panasonic, and other broadcasting and video related companies, Dasan SR, DLOGIXS, Sound Solution, SAMA Sound, SEKI Electronics, Yamaha, and Kevic, and other audio related companies, as well as Alpha Lite, YeGrin, Hyundai Fomex and other lighting-related companies participated.

KOBA 2022, which was held as an offline exhibition for the first time in three years, introduced new exhibition items such as mobile, smart media, display, LED, content, metaverse, and XR, and at a time when differentiated competitiveness is required due to expanding market size of the broadcasting and media industries as a high value-added industry, the KOBA exhibition presented a vision of a next-generation growth industry.

The 'International Broadcasting Technology Conference', hosted by the Korea Broadcasting Engineers & Technicians Association and Korea E&EX, was held 40 times in 12 sessions during the exhibition period at the COEX Conference Center, and focused on issues related to the overall broadcasting industry, such as major broadcasting technologies and policies like terrestrial UHD broadcasting, 4K/8K production, smart media, AI-based content production, immersive media production using AR/VR/XR, and domestic and overseas media trends including OTT, which drew a lot of attention from visitors.

In particular, the KOBA World Media Forum was held to highlight issues related to the domestic and foreign broadcasting industry. The Korea Association of Sound Artists also held seminars related to audio technology to provide professional information on audio technology and practical expertise.

Meanwhile, the KOBA was held for the first time in 1991 to promote the improvement of domestic broadcasting culture and development of the media, audio and lighting industry, and celebrated its 30th anniversary this year. KOBA 2022, which took up a total area of 17,629㎡ in Halls C and D of COEX, presented the next-generation future of the broadcasting services, media, audio, and lighting industries. In particular, during the exhibition period, the International Broadcasting Technology Conference hosted by the Korea Broadcasting Engineers & Technicians Association and the audio-related technical seminar hosted by the Korea Association of Sound Artists and the Acoustical Society of Korea provided an opportunity to learn professional information related to broadcasting and audio.
