JAMESTOWN, NY, July 19, 2022 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Michael C. Pease has been inducted into Marquis Who's Who. For more than two decades, Mr. Pease has served as a leader in the health care administration industry. Having initially joined the Chautauqua County Health Network in New York in 2008, he began as a program manager and worked on a number of public health focused projects as part of a team. He was hired to serve as the Chief Executive Officer of The Chautauqua Center, a federally qualified health center, in 2012. In this capacity, Mr. Pease is responsible for the oversight of grant applications, providing new service lines, expanding into new service areas and, among other areas of the business, negotiating collaborative relationships with other organizations.
The Chautauqua Center provides comprehensive medical, dental, behavioral health and pharmacy services to patients in Dunkirk and Jamestown, New York. Providing high-quality and low-cost health care service to all residents throughout Chautauqua County, the facility also offers payment plans and a sliding fee scale. To date, the organization has notably served approximately 20,000 patients.
Previously, Mr. Pease garnered expertise as a quality assurance/improvement and compliance program manager for The Resource Center from 2001 to 2008. Looking toward the future, he would like to continue serving his organization by helping it expand and provide assistance to those that lack the resources to obtain the health care and support services they require.
Drawing from the influence of his late grandmother, who was a nurse, Mr. Pease has made many improvements throughout the course of his career in the health care industry, including the establishment The Chautauqua Center in a local county in New York. He helped the health center achieve designation as a Patient-Centered Medical Home as well as for gain recognition by the Health Resources & Service Administration in the health disparities reducer, access enhancer, and advancing health information technology for quality categories in 2020. He credits his colleagues as the real reason the health center was able to achieve these, and other, recognitions.
To support his local community, Mr. Pease is a member of the Dunkirk Chamber of Commerce and a member of Safety Net Association of Primary Care Affiliated Providers. He previously sat on numerous boards and committees at the local, state and federal levels, including on the board of the New York State Association for Rural Health from 2018 to 2022 and the Community Health Care Association of New York State between 2021 and 2022.
Highly educated, Mr. Pease received an Associate of Science in Nursing at Jamestown Community College in 1998. He subsequently earned a bachelor's degree in health care administration in 2004 and a master's degree in social policy and nonprofit administration in 2008 at Empire State College at State University of New York.
Honoring his many accomplishments, Mr. Pease was recognized as a health leader in the region in 2013. Likewise, he received the Elizabeth Swain Memorial Award from the Community Health Center in New York State in 2018 and an Economic Development Award from the Chautauqua County Chamber of Commerce in 2020. Mr. Pease credits the support he received from his parents, Jeff and Linda Miller and wife, Amy Pease, as the reason he has been able to achieve all of his accomplishments.
