Prior to obtaining this role, he worked with ARUP as a medical laboratory scientist, data analyst, and floating technologist in clinical toxicology III. From 2017 to 2021, Mr. Fossceco honed his skills in a number of important industry-related areas with a focus on the following tasks: the use of mass spectrometry instruments, the interpretation of results for urine, umbilical cord, and meconium drug tests, and the application of extraction techniques related to various specimen types.
Additionally, Mr. Fossceco has acted as a research assistant with the University of Utah, serving in the research lab and focusing on LGBTQ+ topics. He holds a Bachelor of Science in medical laboratory science and a Bachelor of Science in psychology from the University of Utah, where he was a member of the Medical Laboratory Science Professional Club and the Golden Key International Honor Society. Looking to the future, Mr. Fossceco aims to further pursue his studies and obtain a master's or doctoral degree.
In order to remain current with industry trends, Mr. Fossceco maintains membership with the American Society for Clinical Laboratory Science and the American Society for Clinical Pathology. While hard work has served as a driving force behind his success, he attributes many of his professional accomplishments to the support of his knowledgeable mentors. Though his career has been filled with standout moments, he takes particular pride in developing new pathways for his company, which aim to increase specificity for newborn testing. ARUP's current testing platform was over 10 years old; this upgrade will allow technologists to improve the way testing is analyzed, thereby yielding more specific and accurate results for the organization's clients. Along with this advancement, Mr. Fossceco aspires to continue making developments to revolutionize techniques in laboratory analysis and make positive contributions to the health care field.
