A respected leader in the hospitality industry for more than 40 years, Mr. Jannarone joined Mesquite Gaming LLC in 2012 as the corporate vice president of food and beverage. In 2017, Mr. Jannarone was promoted to corporate general manager where he has since been responsible for overseeing its two properties, CasaBlanca Casino Resort Golf and Spa and Virgin River Hotel and Casino, which serves as the two largest hotel/casinos in Mesquite, Nevada, including their extensive renovations and expansion.
Mr. Jannarone's career began in New Jersey in 1980, when he was a teenager. After five years in the kitchen under the tutelage of several respected chefs. He attended the Culinary Institute of America shortly after graduation. Spending three years in Italy working in seven different restaurants learning local regional cuisine. Mr. Jannarone was recruited by real estate developer and casino mogul Steve Wynn to manage and develop Stefano's and Elaine's Restaurant as the chef de cuisine at the Golden Nugget Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas prior to the opening of The Mirage Casino in 1989, as well as the Riva Ristorante at The Mirage Casino/Resort in Las Vegas. Mr. Jannarone was subsequently named as the director of food service operations for Suncoast Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas in 2000 and South Point Hotel & Casino, a privately owned casino headed by Michael Gaughan, from 2006 to 2012.
Throughout his extensive career, Mr. Jannarone has found great pleasure in mentoring young chefs advancing in the field and would cherish the prospect of teaching in some capacity in the future. He notably served as a guest instructor at the University of Las Vegas and the College of Southern Nevada in Las Vegas where he had the opportunity to teach front and back-of-house operations to students, including various cuisine styles such as Mediterranean, European and Italian, as well as menu and capstone content. For the past 15 years, Mr. Jannarone has notably been involved with St. Jude's Ranch for Children in Boulder City, Nevada, as a board member. Founded more than 50 years ago, the organization serves abused, at-risk children, young adults and families throughout the state by providing them with various therapeutic residential treatment services.
Attributing his success in the industry to his parents, Mr. Jannarone graduated from the Culinary Institute of America with an associate degree in 1983 at the age of 20. He also completed coursework at the University of Las Vegas.
To commemorate his accomplishments, Mr. Jannarone was featured in an article titled 'Dog Into Dinner,' as well as in Mesquite: The Guide, a local publication. CasaBlanca Resort and Casino's restaurant Katherine's Steakhouse also garnered recognition under Mr. Jannarone's leadership by Opentable as one of its Top 100 Most Romantic Restaurants in America for three consecutive years.
