Chris Patton Receives NASCA's National Distinguished Deputy Award

Deputy Secretary for the Wisconsin Department of Administration Recognized

LEXINGTON, KY, September 21, 2022 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Chris Patton, Deputy Secretary of the Department of Administration for the State of Wisconsin, was awarded the National Distinguished Deputy Award from the National Association of State Chief Administrators (NASCA).

NASCA, an association devoted to state Chief Administrators and their senior leadership teams, presents the annual award to honor administrators for a career of accomplishments in state government operations.

Patton received the honor September 19th during NASCA's annual award ceremony at the 2022 Institute on Management and Leadership in Scottsdale, Arizona.

"Chris is an extraordinary person and a critical leader in our administration, including playing an invaluable role in my administration's COVID-19 response efforts," said Wisconsin Governor Tony Evers. "His leadership at the State Emergency Operations Center played a key part in our state's successful response from strong private-public partnerships, a robust testing program, and procuring PPE and ventilators, among other important contributions. He is an exemplary public servant and there is no question that Chris's work saved lives across our state."

Deputy Secretary Patton's public service has extended across three decades and two administrations. He has served in his current role since January 2019 and has since proven his commitment to the people of Wisconsin and its future through his unwavering dedication to helping manage the State's COVID-19 response and its ongoing economic recovery.

According to his colleagues, above all else, Deputy Secretary Patton has forged a new definition of leadership – one of innovation, thoughtfulness, respect and tirelessness. They noted it would hardly be an understatement to say that he is among the most respected public servants in the state. Deputy Secretary Patton's culmination of work across various high-priority areas demonstrates his recognition as NASCA's Distinguished Deputy of the year.

The National Distinguished Deputy Award was established to recognize deputies of state Chief Administrators for outstanding contributions to the work of state government operations.
