AURORA, CO, September 29, 2022 /24-7PressRelease/ -- This book is written by Dr. Cedric Wright a fourth-generation Pentecostal Pastor. This book is about how we push people, looking for help, out of our culture and eventually into despair and often it is all done in the name of religion. The Pastor has given several examples in the course of explaining his point of view. This book is scheduled to be released in December 2022.

Due to the increasing influence of social media, a new term was coined in the late 2010s and early 2020s. Cancel Culture. When a person is rejected on a mass basis because of something he or she did, they are rejected or "canceled" from groups and other pages. This is called "Cancel Culture". The term might be new, but the concept is an old one. For centuries we have banished those people from society whom we think are different or have sinned. The churches and the preachers closed doors on individuals who sinned. And this is where the author begs to differ.

Dr. Cedric Wright writes about the woes of being a leader in many Christian Churches. He talks about people who dedicated their lives in the name of God. These people sacrificed what they had, be it financial resources, time, attention, and their might. And yet, due to some small mistake, or due to a human attribute, all these efforts were wasted. They were turned away from the door of God because they did something that the religious community thinks of as a sin.

The good doctor talks about people who "have fallen into sin", don't they have a right to come back? Shouldn't we help them out when they want redemption? He gives us an example of a young unmarried couple who have a baby together. Such people are rejected by the church. Yes, they made a mistake, but that mistake was made in the blindness of youth and desire, which is human nature. Society rejects them because they are not considered "ministry material". Why? Because they made a mistake? Sex and consummation are human. Because these two are being castrated from the ministry, so many lives are affected. Not just these two young ones, but their parents and their newborn are labeled to be "canceled" from the church. Sounds like cancel culture doesn't it, only, this time it is affecting the path of life this young couple will take.

In the course of being a pastor, Dr. Cedric Wright witnessed many people who either went astray or got destroyed. Not because of some human trait or a mistake/ sin, but because of this cancel culture attitude of the society. In this book, the doctor has talked about a brilliant young preacher who died from cancer while rumored to be suffering from AIDS or a drug overdose. This young man named Archbishop Veron Ashe was a revelatory preacher. He died at the young age of 46 and while he fought against normal human struggles there was no aide for him. It is said that he reached out to many other clerics and none came to his rescue. The doctor talks about how this young educated man reached out for help, but he was frowned upon, embarrassed, and even ended up homeless, and he asks: "How do we cancel on people who have given their whole life to religious service the moment we are confronted with the frailty of humanity?

How do we create paths to redemption within religious communities? I will go as far as to say, and I will get in trouble for this, but I think the secular (pop community) society, learned how to cancel the ones, once celebrated by us. The safest place on the earth should be near the cross of Jesus, near the righteousness of religion" and yet that is where this young man was denied help.
Dr. Cedric Wright presents an opinion, a question. Why can't we accept such people within our fold and provide them with a path to redemption? Secluding such people only pushes them to despair and they make more mistakes. Instead of rejecting them, we should be accepting them back to the church especially if they are seeking the path themselves!
