Dedicated to serving the people of Eastern Kentucky, Ms. Justice has served as the senior vice president and chief operating officer of the Pikeville Medical Center in Pikeville, Kentucky, since 2018. An expert in health care and operations management, she oversees all ancillary service-oriented operations, including laboratory services, imaging services, respiratory services, pharmacy services, facilities management, development, marketing, public relations, and construction for the nonprofit facility. Over the past four years, Ms. Justice has notably completed over $135 million in construction. Prior to beginning her present role, she spent two years as the Medical Center's vice president of professional and support services.
A leader in the industry for decades, Ms. Justice formerly worked for Williamson Memorial Hospital in Williamson, West Virginia, from 2007 to 2016 as the director of laboratory services and patient safety officer. She also gained experience with the Tug Valley ARH Regional Medical Center in South Williamson, Kentucky, between 1998 and 2007 as a senior medical technologist. She also held several other healthcare positions during her early career years.
Ms. Justice's professional accomplishments in the medical field include vastly improving the health care system throughout her region. She was also instrumental in opening the Dr. R.V. and Jyothi Mettu Children's Hospital, which serves as the only children's hospital in her area and expanding two major facilities at the Pikeville Medical Center: the Heart and Vascular Institute and the Leonard Lawson Cancer Center. Looking toward the future, Ms. Justice envisions continually serving the people of Eastern Kentucky, while also expanding health care resources.
Civically, Ms. Justice has been active as the chairperson for the American Cancer Society's Tug Valley Relay for Life. She has also been recognized for her contributions as a member of the board of directors for her local Young Men's Christian Association (YMCA), the Southeastern Chamber of Commerce, and Pike TV.
Ms. Justice studied at the University of Pikeville, where she earned a Bachelor of Science in medical technology in 1997 and a Master of Business Administration in 2013. She also received credentials as a medical technologist through the American Society for Clinical Pathology and as a certified professional in health care quality through the Healthcare Quality Certification Commission. To remain aware of developments in her field, Ms. Justice is a member of the American Society for Clinical Pathology, National Association for Healthcare Quality and the Kentucky Association of Hospitals.
In light of her achievements, Ms. Justice was the recipient of a Rising Young Alumni Award from the University of Pikeville in 2021 and was named among the Top 10 Businesswomen in the State of Kentucky by The Lane Report in 2022.
