DORCHESTER, MA, October 04, 2022 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Michael R. Benezra has been inducted into Marquis Who's Who. Drawing on over a decade of diverse expertise, Mr. Benezra specializes in digital transformation startup venture funds. Since 2022, he has found much success as a managing partner at Erez Capital, while concurrently serving on the board of directors at the Artificial Intelligence Economic Development Corporation. In this capacity, he is responsible for meeting with investors, increasing capital, scouting startup companies and strategizing with advisory board members. Prior to this role, Mr. Benezra served as the co-founder of GK Fund from 2020 until 2022.
Mr. Benezra initially began his career in 2009 serving as a legislative aide at the United States House of Representatives, while concurrently working as a senior policy fellow at the Office of the Governor for the State of Washington from 2009 to 2010. Between 2010 and 2013, he garnered expertise as a White House fellow at the United States Department of Commerce, as well as a research fellow at Harvard Law School. Following this post, he contributed to the Commonwealth of Massachusetts as a legislative director from 2015 until 2017. Between 2017 and 2020, Mr. Benezra was active as the director of economic affairs and innovation at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Israel.
Prior to embarking on his professional journey, Mr. Benezra pursued an education at the University of Washington, where he obtained a Bachelor of Arts in social and political science in 2011. He continued his academic efforts at Harvard University, earning a Master of Arts in government in 2015. As a commitment to his field, he has been active with several industry-related organizations, including the American Israel Cultural Foundation and the Harvard Alumni Entrepreneurs. Likewise dedicated to civic advocacy, Mr. Benezra has contributed to such organizations as the Education Design Shop at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, the Massachusetts Association for Mental Health, the Housing Forward MA organization and the MassChallenge Inc., to only name a few.
Well-regarded for his contributions to the field, Mr. Benezra has received multiple awards, including recognition among the 40 Under 40 via the Boston Business Journal in 2021. Among his professional accomplishments, he is most proud of co-founding the GK Fund, a nonprofit organization dedicated to connecting, funding, mentoring and advancing the prospects of Black, indigenous, people of color, women and veteran led startup companies, which he created during the COVID-19 pandemic after a year of coordinating, filing legal documents and fundraising.
Mr. Benezra attributes much of his success to his education, networking efforts and the diverse expertise that he has garnered from working in various fields. Looking toward the future, he aspires to regulate generational wealth for young Black entrepreneurs and hopes to eliminate professional disparities for Black startup founders.
