'Korea Electronics Shows (KES 2022)', The Biggest Electronic IT Convergence Products Exhibition in Korea with a 53 Year History, Opens in COEX!

- Samsung C-Lab in attendance, with the K-Startup Hall with the biggest scale yet (130 companies) - Select innovative products/technology that are the world's first, and the first in Korea, in the 11th KES Innovation Awards



    LOS ANGELES, CA, October 15, 2022 /24-7PressRelease/ -- The Korea Electronics Association (chairman Jonghee Han) attended the Korea Electronics Show (KES 2022), the biggest exhibition in the Korean electronics & IT industry, which was held from October 4th(Tues) to the 7th(Fri) at COEX A·B hall in Seoul.

The Korea Electronics Show is the biggest electronic IT convergence product exhibition in Korea with a 53-year tradition, and has led Korea's economic growth, introducing and supplying innovative products and cutting-edge technology.

This year's electronic show had around 450 companies (1,200 booths) from 8 countries, including the US, Japan, and Germany, in attendance. With mobility where AI · IoT · big data · metaverse and other electronic · IT-based technology evolved into services, digital health, home & office, and ecofriendly products, it let people experience the 'connected' present and showcased the future.

In particular, not only global corporations like Samsung Electronics and LG Electronics, but many SMEs were in attendance as well, showcasing soon to be commercialized technology and cutting edge/ innovative products, creating a place to see the future trends of the electronics industry and products.

It promoted the VC investment consulting and product presentation with SME support platforms, 'IBK Changong (20 companies)' and 'Samsung C-Lab (10 companies)', and 15 other startup investment companies in attendance, and exhibited Korean wave technology reserve innovative company products as well.

The 'KES Innovation Awards', which had its 11th iteration this year, are awards that are given to discover innovative products and technologies in the electronic IT field. 40 products (technologies) were selected, including the world's first low carbon air purifier that uses a water vortex, the world's first sound player that uses haptic driver vibrations, and Korea's first two nozzle dual extraction technology home café machine.

Including a historic KES Innovation Award winner, the innovative products/ technologies selected this year were revealed to regular visitors within the awards hall of KES.

Alongside KES, other than the innovative product exhibition, there were various conferences that covered other topics like 'KES Future Summit', which had the theme of 'The age of digital transformation, the challenge and fight for a better future!', that were opened simultaneously.

At 'Future Summit', the main keynote, case presentations of both globally distinguished companies, like Samsung Electronics, Hyundai Motors, Schneider Electric, and Qualcomm Korea, and SMEs preparing to expand into various global markets like in sleep tech and ecofriendly appliances, were presented, proposing a wide path for new innovation in preparation for future digital transformation.

Samsung Electronics with Bespoke, and LG Electronics with Objet Collection, expanded their UP appliances lineups and showed the convergence of appliances and space.

Samsung Electronics' Bespoke Jet Bot AI+ improved user convenience with a 3D sensor and AI autonomous driving technology, and they showcased their portable beam projector, 'the Freestyle', which was wildly popular amongst the MZ generations. LG Electronics exhibited 'MoodUP' of their Object Collection, which was revealed at IFA 2022 (German appliance convention) and uses LED panels to freely change their exterior color, and their new table-type air purifier, 'Aero Furniture' (KES Innovation Award winner).

In the field of mobility, in addition to a look into the commercialization of fully autonomous driving technology in automobiles of the future, they showed the expandability of the mobility concept which was widened to include aviation and space travel.

Autonomous A to Z operated a remote-control technology cockpit experiencing event with a 'smart city' concept, and Korea Aerospace Industries (KAI) demonstrated a VR plane simulator with the latest mobility technology applied through the pilot training equipment that they developed.

In the metaverse hall, the combination of reality and virtual reality became the real world and showcased sophisticated implementation technology that interacts with each other and acts like reality based on a communication platform.

KT DS (KT affiliated IT service company) introduced K-VaRam, their metaverse building solution, and ONMIND revealed Korea's first realistic virtual human, 'SUA', which is capable of live interaction.

KEA vice-chairman, Chungwon Park, said that, "KES is a place of exchanging the latest information and acquisition of technology, where you can see trends of the cutting-edge electronic & IT industry which leads the innovation market of the 4th industrial revolution and plan the direction of future industries," and went on to say, "In accordance with the trend of blurring boundaries between industries, it will be a good opportunity to create new business through networking and integration."

First opening in 1969, 'Korea Electronics Show (KES)' is Korea's leading electronics and IT industry exhibition and marked its 53rd year of its history with the electronics and IT industry. Hosted by the Ministry of Trade, Industry, and Energy and overseen by the Korea Electronics Association, KES not only helps companies pioneer markets and expand exports but has also provided a place to create new business through networking and integration in accordance with the trend of blurring lines between industries. This year, they have come up with various ways to effectively support the export marketing of industries that have suffered under COVID-19, simultaneously operating on/offline exhibition halls, collaborating with export support institutions in Korea and overseas to discover genuine overseas buyers, hosting online export consultations, filming booths for live online promotions, and supporting business matching.
