Mikhail Peleg, an entrepreneur and ideolog of the Israeli Jewish Congress, was among the inaugural attendees and commented on the cultural significance of the exhibition.

Music has always played the role of the universal human language that connected countries and cultures together and helped them find common ground.

COPENHAGEN, DENMARK, October 26, 2022 /24-7PressRelease/ -- In May of 2022, the Israeli Embassy in Copenhagen and the Hebrew Music Museum in Jerusalem collaborated on a two-week exhibition, "The Wanderings of the Hebrew Melodies." The exhibition was the first international collaboration in the museum's history and was hosted by the Community House of the Jewish Community in Denmark. Copenhagen's Jewish Culture Festival also supported the exhibition, with this year's celebration marking the 400 year anniversary of the first Jewish arrivals in Denmark's modern history.

The exhibition focused on Hebrew and Jewish culture and music history. The collection featured instruments from various countries and periods throughout history. Some of the countries of origin included Syria, Morocco, Uzbekistan, Ethiopia, as well as European countries. The exhibition was open to the public for two weeks, each display with its own QR-code so visitors could scan and listen to the sound of each instrument.

Mr. Davy Antebi, the Deputy Ambassador of the Embassy of Israel introduced the exhibition to the audience. Among the inaugural attendees was ideolog of the Israeli Jewish Congress, Mikhail Peleg. Commenting on the cultural significance of the exhibition, Peleg noted that music has always played the role of the universal human language that connected countries and cultures together and helped them find common ground. Exhibits like these are important for telling the little-known history of Jewish music.
