A leading expert in his field, Mr. Rubel holds a Bachelor of Science in communications from Northern Illinois University and a Doctor of Jurisprudence from the University of San Diego's School of Law. Subsequently, he was admitted to practice through the Illinois State Bar Association, the State Bar of California, and the United States District Court for the Southern District of California. Since 1991, he has excelled as a workers' compensation attorney, and, since 2008, he has been a Certified Specialist in workers' compensation.
While his career has been filled with standout accomplishments, Mr. Rubel takes the most pride in helping his clients through the most trying times of their lives and helping injured workers in California navigate the complex California workers' compensation system. He also assists injured workers traverse the issue of sovereign immunity for injuries that occur as an employee of a Native American tribe. He successfully collaborated with the Employment Development Department, the California Department of Insurance, and the Workers' Compensation Appeals Board in addressing problems encountered when Native American Tribes attempted to extend their sovereign immunity beyond the bounds of their reservations. Mr. Rubel was interviewed for his expertise and quoted in the Wall Street Journal regarding his efforts in this most disturbing practice.
