From the tender age of five years old, Dr. Deuvletian knew he wanted to become a veterinarian after he and his mother picked up a stray cat. Similarly, he was inspired by his Armenian ancestors, who were animal caretakers in a Turkish village near the Mediterranean. Before entering veterinarian school he spent two years at Macdonald College, an agricultural school at McGill University. After earning a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine through the University of Montreal, he became licensed to practice veterinary medicine in Ontario, Quebec, and New York. Over the years, he also expanded upon his knowledge by earning a master's degree and completing an internship.
Backed by more than two and a half decades as a veterinarian, Dr. Deuvletian presently excels with the Clinique Veterinaire de Montreal. Since starting the clinic in 2001, he has conducted surgeries and provided consultations. Due to his outstanding breadth of knowledge, he authored a biography called "Clinic Born Out of Autism" and was featured on CBC News through the segment, "Autism in adults detected by brain scans."
Though his career has been filled with standout moments, Dr. Deuvletian takes the most pride in a recent spay he successfully conducted on an 8 year old cat with pyometra named Bonjuk (the name of a known Turkish good luck charm) that belonged to Turkish clients. The cornerstone of his success lay in his heritage, as well as working every day as if it is his last. Within the next five years, Dr. Deuvletian intends to foster his passion for writing and remain open to new opportunities.
