With more than 58 years of experience in government contracts management, Mr. Kreideweis has achieved nationally known and recognized success as a leader in government contract services. Since 2006, he has been a partner in KL Contract Consulting LLP, where he has focused his efforts on providing contract consulting services to companies involved in government contracting. Services he has provided include proposal preparation; contract negotiation assistance; training; interpretation, evaluation, and application of government regulations to specific contract situations; business systems development, demonstration, and review; preparation of requests for equitable adjustment (REAs) and contract claims; dispute resolution; litigation (expert witness) support, and contract close-out support.
Before starting his private career, Mr. Kreideweis served honorably for 23 years in the United States Air Force (USAF) from 1964 to 1987, achieving the rank of lieutenant colonel. During his AF career, he was a Contracting Officer for the United States of America for 20 years, performed as a Head of a Contracting Activity (HCA), was selected as the Outstanding Contracting Officer four times in three different major USAF commands, and was the recipient of the 1986 Secretary of the Air Force Professionalism in Contracting Award (Supervisor).
After his Air Force career, he began his civilian career in 1987 as a senior manager/principal in Ernst & Young's (E&Y) Government Contract Services practice, where he served as project manager for numerous, always successful demonstrations to the government of company MMAS, Estimating, Property, and Purchasing systems to achieve "approved" company business system status. He subsequently became the Director of Contracts, Property, and Procurement with Siemens Maintenance Services, LLC (SMS) from 2003 to 2006, where Mr. Kreideweis provided contract guidance and direction to move SMS from a second-tier subcontractor to become the prime contractor to Homeland Security (TSA) for maintenance of all the security equipment at all of the 440+ commercial airports in the US and its territories.
During his professional journey, Mr. Kreideweis earned a BA in Government from Colby (ME) College, a Master of Public Administration (MPA) from Auburn University, and a Certificate in Managing Change from Harvard University. He is a Lifetime Certified Professional Contracts Manager, so designated by the National Contract Management Association (NCMA), for which he is also a Past National President (1999 - 2000). In recognition of his contributions to NCMA, he was honored with a Distinguished Service Award in 2004 and the Alvis D. Keen Honorary Life Member Award in 2008. Mr. Kreideweis is also a life member of the Air Force Association (AFA), the Military Officers Association of America (MOAA), and the National Defense Industrial Association (NOIA).
He played Division I baseball and learned to ski in college. Today, he is still involved in coaching baseball, still skis, and has become an avid golfer. He supports several animal protection groups, as well as the Red Cross, Hospice, and Habitat for Humanity. With Karla, his wife of 40+ years, his home base is in Plano, TX, a suburb of Dallas.
