The American Association of Pet Parents Partners with Hello Ralphie to Provide Pet Telehealth

The American Association of Pet Parents Partners with Hello Ralphie, Providing Access to Pet Telehealth for all Pet Parents

RIVERSIDE, IL, December 13, 2022 /24-7PressRelease/ -- The American Association of Pet Parents (AAPP) is proud to announce a partnership with Hello Ralphie, the nation's leading veterinary telehealth company. Beginning December 15th, pet parents will have access to virtual, pet healthcare and veterinary support across the nation.

"We know families are struggling not only to pay for medical care for their pets, but just getting an appointment is very difficult. Veterinary telehealth does not replace the need to visit your doctor, but this service may provide the immediate answers needed when your pet is ill or injured. Having a professional to talk to can make all the difference to your pet," said Tom Van Winkle, CEO and Founder of AAPP. "Simply put, we are excited for pet parents to benefit from telehealth and telemedicine services. We are honored to be partnering with Hello Ralphie. Their experience in the telehealth industry will ensure best in class service to our pet parents."

According to a national study by the Access to Veterinary Care found that one out of four pet owners experience barriers to veterinary care, and the "overwhelming barrier for all groups of pet owners and types of care (preventive, sick, and emergency care) is financial." A study published in the Journal of the American Veterinary Medical Association ound that cost was cited frequently as an obstacle to veterinary care. While finances are a common barrier to veterinary care, many people also live in areas with few or no veterinary services or face other logistical obstacles. Especially when combined, such factors can force families to make difficult decisions to forgo basic veterinary preventive care, which can lead to more urgent medical conditions. Telemedicine can help pet owners avoid additional expenses related to unnecessary time off work or transportation and may provide cost-effective options. Telemedicine can also address problems with bringing pets to clinics that may be faced by many pet owners, such as seniors, disabled individuals, those without transportation, and owners of fearful, large, or potentially aggressive pets.

Through the AAPP Pet Telehealth platform, pet parents will have an opportunity to choose from single advice appointments," medicine appointments when legally allowed, and subscription service. This service will offer pet parents hundreds of dollars, helping pet owners avoid additional expenses related to unnecessary time off work or transportation and may provide cost-effective options.

"Hello Ralphie is thrilled to partner with AAPP to be a resource for pet parents in between their in-person appointments at clinics." said Felicity Johnson, Founder of Hello Ralphie. "Together, we hope to guide pet parents during moments of uncertainty so that we can help pets live happier and healthier lives."
