WEST CHESTER, PA, December 22, 2022 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Paul Cheng has been included in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

Born in 1962 in Hong Kong, Mr. Cheng began training in martial arts at an early age. Upon coming to the United States, he continued his training with the likes of Benjamin Welburn, who taught Jeet Kune Do and Kung Fu, as well as Ozzie Wright III, Master Gary Barton, Master Hugo Armando, Grandmaster Alan Cheung, and Grandmaster Clayton McCombs. Drawing on his considerable experience and the experience of those that came before him, Mr. Cheng presently excels as the founder and president of Cheng's Martial Arts School, where he teaches a wide range of martial arts disciplines to students young and old.

Prior to opening his school, Mr. Cheng worked as a tractor trailer truck driver. However, after sustaining an injury, he healed himself through martial arts and became driven to help others do the same. Throughout his career, he has competed in a number of competitions, and he coached a student who went on to compete in the 2003 U.S. Junior Olympic Taekwondo Championship and he took gold. In 2007, Mr. Cheng established the National Team Cheng Martial Arts Association, which was created to provide training at the local and national levels. Many members of the team have also traveled to the U.S. Open in Orlando, Florida, where they received the Elite 8 Fourth Place Award.

Driven to foster martial arts excellence across the country, Mr. Cheng founded a second school in 2009 and a third school in Bala Cynwyd in 2010. Additionally, he developed programs for the Lansdowne and Ridley YMCA, Holy Child Academy, the Mainline Chinese Cultural Center, the Upper Darby Recreational Center, and various afterschool programs. In conjunction with his dedication to martial arts, he contributes to his community via the William Penn School District, The Upper Darby Arts & Education Foundation, the Philadelphia Historic Martial Arts Society Hall of Fame, and the Universal Systems of Martial Arts.

In light of his outstanding body of work, Mr. Cheng has been recognized on several occasions, earning the School of the Year Award in 2005 and 2006, the WKU Master of the Year Award in 2010, and the Philadelphia Historic Martial Arts Society Hall of Fame Award in 2014. In 2022, he was also featured in "Deadly Art of Survival Magazine." Within the next five years, Mr. Cheng aims to find a successor to take over his school.
