Paschal, EdD, retired professor and director from the Family Counseling Center, has been selected for a cover feature in the Eighth Edition of Marquis Millennium Magazine. Dr. James A. Paschal joined the United States Army in 1951 and served in the Korean War until his honorable discharge in 1953. Upon his military discharge, he desired to help others in need and became a volunteer for Caritas in New Orleans for the following four years while studying at Xavier University. Graduating with a BA in 1957, he went on to serve as a fifth grade teacher at East View Elementary School until 1959, a librarian and counselor at Staley Junior High School until 1965 and a social worker for the Americus School System in Georgia until 1967. During his tenures, he pursued an MS at Fort Valley State College, graduating in 1963.
