After more than 50 years of proven success in the semiconductor and electronics manufacturing industry, Dr. Stach retired in 2018 as the board director for AVX Corporation in Fountain Inn, South Carolina, and Reno Subsystems in Mount Laurel, New Jersey. His lengthy career included several high-level positions, including as the executive vice president at Advanced Energy in Voorhees, New Jersey, between 1998 and 2003. Prior to that appointment, Dr. Stach was the chairperson, chief executive officer, and president at RF Power Products Inc. in Voorhees from 1991 to 1998. Among other noteworthy roles, he excelled as the executive vice president at Plasma-Therm in the Tampa/Saint Petersburg area of Florida between 1991 and 1993. He also garnered experience as an investor and business advisor for a startup company called Princeton Power Systems, which is based in New Jersey, from 2003 to 2013.

In addition to the recognition that he gained in the industry, Dr. Stach taught for many years, beginning as an instructor of electrical engineering at his alma mater, Pennsylvania State University, from 1963 to 1966 while pursuing his doctorate on campus. He was subsequently promoted to serve as an assistant professor, associate professor, and full professor between the years 1968 and 1983. Furthermore, Dr. Stach served as the executive director at the Center for Microelectronics Research at the University of South Florida in Tampa from 1988 to 1991.

Apart from his primary career endeavors, Dr. Stach had the opportunity to consult for two leading corporations, Carborundum Company, a New York-based company and worldwide leader in making materials that minimize and eliminate defects in the manufacturing process of bipolar devices or chips, and Air Products and Chemicals Inc., a Pennsylvania-based organization that sells gases and chemicals for industrial uses. Additionally, Dr. Stach was a technical advisor for Zero Stage, a capital board director for Semilab SDI LLC, and a board director for Semiconductor Diagnostics Inc., Waveguide Solutions Inc., and Verteq Inc. He was the first academic ever to be appointed to a major semiconductor equipment and materials organization (Semiconductor Equipment and Materials International). He served on its Board of Directors for 11 years.

In preparation for his career, Dr. Stach earned a Bachelor of Science in electrical and electronics engineering at the New Jersey Institute of Technology in 1960. During his undergraduate studies, he spent the summer of 1959 as an intern at ITT Labs. Dr. Stach also received a Master of Science in electrical engineering and a Doctor of Philosophy in electrical and electronics engineering at Pennsylvania State University in 1963 and 1966, respectively.
