    WATERBURY, CT, March 16, 2023 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Marquis Who's Who, the world's premier publisher of biographical profiles, is proud to present Frederick Lee Luedke, MBA, with the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award. An accomplished listee, Mr. Luedke celebrates many years' experience in his professional network, and has been noted for achievements, leadership qualities, and the credentials and successes he has accrued in his field. Becoming interested in the manufacturing industry during his school years, Mr. Luedke graduated with a bachelor's degree in engineering and began his career in 1960 with GE by taking part in its extensive manufacturing training program. Over the years, he found success with several companies in the northeast, including Polaroid Corporation in Waltham, Massachusetts, as the production general supervisor, Millipore Corporation in Bedford, Massachusetts, as the manager of manufacturing, and Berol Corporation in Danbury, Connecticut, as the director of manufacturing. In 1987, Mr. Luedke joined Neoperl Inc. in Waterbury, Connecticut, a manufacturer of plumbing components for the plumbing industry. After serving as the organization's executive vice president for five years, he was promoted to president in 1992 where he remained until retirement in 2013. During his tenure Neoperl Inc became the exclusive supplier of faucet aerators and other components to the North American plumbing industry.

Throughout his distinguished business career, Mr. Luedke served on various boards of directors, including Platt Brothers and Company, the Waterbury Development Corporation and the Waterbury Regional Chamber. He also served on the board of directors and as the president of Plumbing Manufacturers International, the trade association for the plumbing industry. In addition, he was appointed by the Governor of CT to the Waterbury Planning and Financial Assistance Board (the Oversight Board) that took charge of Waterbury finances and completely revamped the financial management practices of the city. He was later elected to the Waterbury Board of Alderman where he served as Minority Leader.

Civically, Mr. Luedke has been active with an array of nonprofit, charitable, and religious organizations. He is presently the chairperson of the Waterbury Land Bank Authority since its founding in 2022 with a mission of repurposing distressed properties in the city's neighborhoods. He served as chairman of Waterbury Hospital, Easter Seal and president of the Waterbury Club. He chaired the Housing and Neighborhoods task force that created the Waterbury Neighborhood Council, and he chaired the annual United Way fund-raising campaign.

Mr. Luedke received a Bachelor of Science in industrial engineering at Wichita State University in Kansas in 1960. He entered the U.S. Army, having graduated as a second lieutenant in R.O.T.C. He served in the Army Field Artillery at Fort Sill, Oklahoma, from 1961 to 1962. Shortly thereafter, Mr. Luedke was accepted to Harvard University in Cambridge, Massachusetts, where he earned a Master of Business Administration in 1966.

To remain aware of developments in his field, Mr. Luedke was a member of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers, the American Society of Plumbing Engineers, and the American Society of Sanitary Engineering. Recognizing his career and civic accomplishments, Mr. Luedke received a Certificate of Recognition from Neighborhood Housing Services in 1995, two City Service Awards from the Waterbury Neighborhood Council in 1999 and 2019, a Manufacturer of the Year Award from the Waterbury Regional Chamber in 2003, and the Kellogg Award from the United Way of Greater Waterbury in 2009.
