Outside of his work, he aligns himself with his community through the Brazilian Ice Sports Federation, Brazil Ice Hockey, the Portuguese Ice Sports Federation and the International Ice Hockey Federation. In order to stay abreast of the field, he also affiliates himself with the Northern California Human Resources Association and the Society of Human Resource Management Northern California.
An expert in his field, Mr. Gaglianone Calhau completed coursework in management at IMD Business School, in Lausanne, Switzerland, and earned a bachelor's degree in business administration from the Pontificia Universidade Catolica de Sao Paulo, in Brazil. Likewise, he became certified as Senior Professional Human Resources - SPHR through the Human Resources Certification Institute, a master trainer through Development Dimensions International, and an ISO internal auditor through The Vehicle Certification Agency. While his career has been filled with highlights, he takes particular pride in working on the Volkswagen and Ford Joint Venture "AutoEuropa," which was one of the most significant foreign investments in Portugal. He also led the Human Resources and Communications due diligence that resulted in the successful multi-million sale of the Borealis petrochemical site in Portugal. Mr. Gaglianone Calhau's sports achievements include becoming Brazilian Figure Skating Champion three times and playing several years for the Brazilian national ice hockey team.
