Sonya Reese Greenland Celebrated for Dedication to the Field of Education

Sonya Greenland worked as an elementary education teacher for 40 years

Ms. Greenland takes the most pride in publishing her book and developing an understanding of African-American culture.

    LOS ANGELES, CA, April 04, 2023 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Sonya Reese Greenland has been included in Marquis Who's Who. Backed by years of professional experience in education, Ms. Greenland most recently served as a fourth-grade teacher and a tutor for Life Long Learning. Throughout her career, she tutored students young and old. Her great-grandfather, Rev. Arthur Lloyd Reese, started a business school in Louisiana. Her grandfather became a janitor and an official town decorator of Venice, CA. His story inspired her to pursue a career in education. Over the years, Ms. Greenland also served as the vice president of the Venice Historical Society.

Throughout her career, Ms. Greenland utilized her experiences and those of her family to write a book titled "The Wizard of Venice." An expert in her field, she holds a bachelor's degree in sociology and a master's degree in reading from California State University, Los Angeles, and an Elementary School Credential from California State University, Northridge. Alongside her work, Ms. Greenland has contributed to her community by tutoring for a nonprofit for five years and serving as a member of the Culture Education Project.

While her career has been filled with highlights, Ms. Greenland takes the most pride in publishing her book and developing an understanding of African-American culture. Within the next five to ten years, Ms. Greenland aims to enjoy her retirement.
