Since 2014, he has focused his efforts on providing financial advisement to law enforcement and fire department professionals, and on educating various individuals regarding their finances and wealth management. Among his areas of expertise, Mr. Harley primarily handles wealth transfer, estate planning and retirement planning. Additionally, he has served as a private client advisor with JPMorgan Chase Bank N. A. since 2019, and lends his expertise as a valued member of the Association of African American Financial Advisors and the National Organization of Black Law Enforcement Executives.
Among his professional accomplishments, Mr. Harley is proud to have been named as a Top 50 Advisor by the Association of African American Financial Advisors in 2021. Prior to his current role, Mr. Harley began his career working with First American Bank, and later functioned as the senior vice president of Citigroup Asset Management from 1999 to 2006. During this time, he also served as the director of Legg Mason from 2000 until 2014 and worked with Smith Barney Asset Management. Prior to embarking on his professional journey, Mr. Harley earned a Bachelor of Science in Marketing from Southeastern University in 1993. He also completed the ESSEC Business School Diversity and Inclusion in the Workplace certification course.
Within the coming years, Mr. Harley intends to utilize his skills and experience as an African American in financial services to help the industry become more diverse and close the wealth gap. Having noticed during the course of his journey that the wealth gap has its roots primarily in educational disparities, he therefore seeks to assist others in becoming more well-versed in wealth management.
He is married to Johnine Barnes Harley and has three wonderful children, Jonathan, Paige and Eric II.
