Marquisha S. Frost, PhD, has been Inducted into the Prestigious Marquis Who's Who Biographical Registry

As a woman of color, she has found there is value and a sense of fulfillment to be gained in inspiring and serving others rather than achieving financial gain.

    LINCOLN, NE, April 07, 2023 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Marquisha S. Frost, PhD, has been included in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

Leveraging more than a decade of excellence in higher education, behavioral health, and counseling, Dr. Frost has earned distinction as the Vice President of Strategic Engagement for the Nebraska Children and Families Foundation, an organization that works directly with children, families, school systems and communities. She has focused her efforts on building capacity for diversity, equity, and inclusion for the foundation by helping employees who are part of the organization and statewide partners, align to these principles.

Prior to her current role, Dr. Frost worked at the University of Nebraska-Omaha as Director of Strategy and Operations, Assistant Dean and Director of Academic Success and Disability Services at Scripps College, and a Behavioral Health Specialist at Boys Town. She simultaneously works as a Graduate Counseling Professor. Dr. Frost is the owner of Marquisha&Co. life-coaching and consulting consultancy for wellness and self-improvement. Among her professional accomplishments, she is proud to have received a Winifred Hausam and Helen Fisk for Excellence in Service in Higher Education Award from Claremont Graduate University in 2018 and a Distinguished Alumni Award from the University of Nebraska in 2019. She was also named Adjunct Professor of the Year by Helms College in 2021.

Also dedicated to civil advocacy, Dr. Frost serves as a co-leader for several alternative programs with the University of Nebraska's Alumni Academy and volunteers as a mentor with her local YMCA, Girls, Inc., and Girl Scouts of America. She also volunteers through her local church and other non-profit organizations, including participating in coat drives, feeding homeless individuals, and working at a women's shelter. In recognition of her stellar work for her community, she received a 2020 Community Service Award.

Prior to embarking on her professional journey, Dr. Frost earned a bachelor's degree from the University of Nebraska-Omaha in 2013, earning several student awards for leadership while pursuing her education. Following this achievement, she attained a master's degree in counseling from the same institution in 2014 and gained a Doctor of Philosophy in higher education administration from Claremont Graduate University in 2018. She is the youngest person in the history of her master's program to receive the Young Professional Award from the University of Nebraska-Omaha.

Within the coming years, Dr. Frost intends to continue her work making a positive impact in all that she does. As a woman of color, she has found there is value and a sense of fulfillment to be gained in inspiring and serving others rather than achieving financial gain. Having made a transition from higher education to the non-profit sector, she aspires to serve as an inspiration for others who want to pursue personal and professional success, especially women of color and young mothers, as she notes her greatest accomplishment to date, are her three children.
