Retiring Retirement

The Revolution in Aging has arrived and with it, an entirely new way of advising clients and employees to look beyond 65.

"I realized that advisors are not being shown the how of Longevity Planning. Both they and their clients are being underserved in the absence of this flourishing longevity training" - Jonathan Ainsley

ORLANDO, FL, April 26, 2023 /24-7PressRelease/ -- For more than five years, Jonathan Ainsley has been training financial planning professionals about the Revolution in Aging and the need to retire conventional 65+ thinking. Ainsley has conveyed this message through seminars and workshops, public speaking engagements, webinars, and appearances on prominent podcasts, including: ASHHRA Podcast with Bo & Luke Episode 14, Swift Chat, and Hartford Funds Podcast to name a few. As a result, advisors are increasingly seeking out this training.

"I realized that advisors are not being shown the how of Longevity Planning. Both they and their clients are being underserved in the absence of this flourishing longevity training", explains Jonathan Ainsley, founder of InvestInU and a thought leader in the area of longevity planning."It's not that there are not already many resources in the longevity space, but our work is pulling those resources together as a powerful deliverable. The industry is seeking solutions: providing more value, more planning engagement, more referrals, deeper relationships, broader connections across gender and generations, offsetting 10+ years of favorable market performance, and redefining human advice. Yet the answer is hiding in plain sight. Our focus has been to develop and deliver the most meaningful outcome, not just for clients but for the advisors themselves."

A Financial Services Background
Jonathan Ainsley has worked in financial services since 1986. He was a senior relationship specialist at Schwab Advisor Services and a business strategy and initiative manager with Merrill Lynch prior to founding InvestInU and launching the Longevity Advisor training program through InvestInU.

"It's time to retire the conventional idea of retirement," says Ainsley."LifeSpans have been significantly lengthened during the last 100 years and with advances in technology, science and our intentions, it is likely to continue its parabolic ascent.

"Sixty-five, more often as not, was seen as a finishing line, not necessarily a starting line. The new thinking sees 65 as the launch point for a more fruitful chapter in life. This is the revolution of aging," adds Ainsley.

Averages hide more than they reveal. While the current life expectancy in the US is around ~79 (male) / ~81 (female), there is also the 50% likelihood today, that for a 65-year-old couple, one spouse will live to 95.

There is a belief amongst gerontologists that the person who will live to be 150 years old has been born.

This is all occurring with a shift in science, medicine, and technology. In his book, The Great Age Reboot, Dr. Michael Roizen of the Cleveland Clinic suggests that by 2030, 90 will be the new 40. One only has to look at recent performances by Mick Jagger and Paul McCartney to understand why that might be the case.

Ainsley observes that many advisors have yet to recognize the wonderful possibility to inspire and engage their clients about their potential for living a healthier, more intentional life toward age 100. There is a real need to rethink the preset notions of retirement and train advisors in that space.

Says Jonathan Ainsley:
"Based on my experience and expertise in the field of seeing what does and doesn't work," says Ainsley,"working across the full spectrum of the industry from the Forbes #1 Advisor in the country to lifestyle practices, I have used webinars and developed online video training to introduce the vision of the healthy 100-year life and deliver. longevity advising."

With this in mind, Jonathan Ainsley created a Longevity Advisor Training Program. The program is designed to be simple, fun, and to deliver powerful outcomes. It is an introduction to longevity advising to create a paradigm shift first for the advisor and, in turn, their clients. It is designed to allow for the integration and delivery of other longevity resources, such as MIT AgeLab, AgeWave, Blue Zones, Stanford Center on Longevity, Life-Planning and various gerontology programs, to name but a few.

There is a free introductory webinar,"How LongevityAdvising is Transforming Financial Planning," with 1.0 hours of CFP CE credit.
