MENLO PARK, CA, May 09, 2023 /24-7PressRelease/ -- James Vincent Eade is a distinguished biographee of Marquis Who's Who. On April 18, 2023, he was spotlighted in New York City's Times Square on a 22-story tall screen that is passed by an estimated 1.5 million people daily. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are chosen from among a pool of the most prominent professionals and are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

A world-renowned chess competitor who holds the title of FIDE Master, Mr. Eade has dedicated himself to perfecting his craft, organizing tournaments and advancing the popularity of the game. He is currently active as the chairman and chief executive officer of The Eade Foundation, a nonprofit organization he initiated in 2019. The company's mission is to distribute chess sets around the globe in an effort to introduce people to the game and promote chess literacy and notation, which ultimately ensures the preservation of a game for further analysis. Mr. Eade believes deeply in the power of camaraderie and mentorship that the game of chess encourages; thus, The Eade Foundation administers opportunities to make tutoring and counsel available to players eager to advance their skill levels.

The intergenerational context of his first chess-playing experiences proved foundational to Mr. Eade's career trajectory, as did his exposure to the legendary Bobby Fischer's expertise on display at the world championship in 1972. That same year, Mr. Eade joined a chess club, where he thrived on forging relationships with older players who welcomed him as a peer. Ever since, he has appreciated the game as a channel for giving back to his community, and Mr. Eade's deliberate outreach efforts have shown ample return.

Mr. Eade brings distinct and multifaceted professional experience to his current activities, and his expertise is distributed across an impressive array of industries. For example, he was affiliated with Charles Schwab as both a senior systems programmer and a director, and as a freelancer, he has been an author and publisher as well. He also enjoyed a long tenure with The U.S. Chess Trust, appointed as trustee in 2000, and as a president between 2010 and 2019. Notably, Mr. Eade also boasts substantial academic accomplishments, including a Bachelor of Arts in history from the University of Massachusetts Amherst and a Master of Arts in human resources management and organization development from the University of San Francisco.

Certain that chess empowers individuals by imparting discipline and humility, and confident that chess in turn builds cohesive communities, Mr. Eade enjoys his work as an instructor. He prompts his students to avoid becoming discouraged and instead realize the simple joys of playing. He is gratified to watch new initiates gain sufficient exposure to the game and even move on to compete in tournaments themselves. As a teacher, Mr. Eade relies on his own innate strengths, including an ability to concentrate, determination and resilience.

Mr. Eade recognizes the significant value in accepting invitations to civic service appointments, such as his role as the organizer of the Hall of Fame Tournament in 1996 and the Pan Pacific International Chess Tournament in 1995, largely considered the most prestigious chess tournament in San Francisco's history. Ultimately, Mr. Eade considers his success in launching and managing this important competition, which attracted champions from all over the world, as his most notable professional achievement.

He also served as the president of the Chess Journalists of America from 1995 to 1996, and he is a past president of The Kolty Chess for Youth Foundation. In addition, he served as the chairman of the Chess Advisory Board of The University of Texas at Dallas and as a delegate of the United States Chess Federation. Mr. Eade also functioned as the American Zone president of FIDE with the World Chess Federation from 2000 to 2002 and held a seat on the policy board of the United States Chess Federation from 1996 to 1999.

Mr. Eade pursues channels to contribute meaningful scholarly work on assorted subjects, and in addition to research and writing, he is also active in the production arena of the literary business through his role as editor and publisher of the CalChess Journal and Golden Gate Chess News; moreover, he founded and managed Hypermodern Press to publish and disseminate valuable content related to chess. As an author, he has several distinct titles to his credit, including "Remember the MacCutcheon!", published by Chess Enterprises in 1991, and "The Chess Player's Bible: Illustrated Strategies for Staying Ahead of the Game" disseminated as part of a Barron's Educational Series in 2004.
