Armed with an intrinsic understanding of the value of hard labor, gleaned from years spent as a professional house painter, Mr. Nicastro initially served as a law clerk between 2012 and 2014 at Bernhardi & Lukasik Law Offices, where he advanced to become an associate and remained active until 2016. He subsequently joined the staff at Ramos & Ramos, a personal injury practice based in Buffalo, New York, and earned distinction there until 2020, whereupon he entered his current role. Since the formation of Cantor, Wolff, Nicastro & Hall, the firm has notably gone on to triple its staff of attorneys and has earned glowing testimonials from a variety of clients.
Outside of his primary professional endeavors, Mr. Nicastro spent much of his early career in the music industry, performing as the lead guitarist for More Than Me, a pop/rock band that won the Hard Rock International Ambassadors of Rock Battle of the Bands competition in 2010. The grand prize came in the form of delivering the opening performance for Paul McCartney in Hyde Park, England, before a crowd of 50,000. Continuing to perform as a musician, Mr. Nicastro has gone on to raise money for a variety of worthy causes, including the Against the Storm Foundation Inc., a nonprofit organization that seeks to fight against blood cancer and support improvements to the quality of life of those in need. Likewise, he serves on the board of trustees of the Western and Central New York chapter of the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.
Mr. Nicastro initially studied political science and government at the University at Buffalo, from which he graduated, summa cum laude, with a Bachelor of Arts in 2005. Following this accomplishment, he pivoted his interests toward legal service and attended the University at Buffalo School of Law, where he distinguished himself as a mock trial team competitor and as the only student in the history of the school to receive a perfect score on his trial technique evaluation.
Mr. Nicastro ultimately attained a Doctor of Jurisprudence, cum laude, in 2014, as well as the James M. Kieffer Trial Excellence Award, an accolade that is bestowed to graduates who exhibit outstanding competence in trial advocacy. Additional awards to his credit include his recognition as a Rising Star by Super Lawyers, the Gerald J. O'Brien '52 Trial Excellence Award and Scholarship, and the Robert J. Conley Trial Technique Award.
In accounting for his overall success, Mr. Nicastro largely attributes his background in manual labor and music, which exposed him to a wide variety of people and imbued him with an innate empathy for the struggles of others. Among his most cherished achievements, he is particularly proud to have started his own law firm and to have invested so much of his time, resources and energy into his charitable pursuits.
