Drawing on over four decades of expertise in the fields of health care and education, Dr. Singh specializes in experimental research, immunopathology, and anatomic and clinical pathology. Since 2014, he has found much success as the Walter L. Shepeard chair of clinical pathology and the vice chairman of clinical affairs at the Augusta University Medical College of Georgia. Prior to this role, he was active as a professor and a medical director of clinical pathology at the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Medicine from 2006 until 2014. During this time, he also served as a medical director at Heritage Labs International Inc. from 2011 to 2015. Dr. Singh initially began his vocation working as a professor of pathology, a chief medical officer and the vice president of clinical affairs at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine and the VA Pittsburgh Healthcare System between 1978 and 2006.

Prior to embarking on his professional journey, Dr. Singh pursued an education at the Armed Forces Medical College in Pune, India, earning a Doctor of Medicine in 1971. Subsequently, he completed his residency in pathology at the Mount Sinai Beth Israel Icahn School of Medicine in New York in 1974. He continued his academic efforts at the University of Pittsburg School of Medicine, where he obtained a Doctor of Philosophy in experimental pathology in 1977 and fulfilled his residency in pathology in 1978. Dr. Singh concluded his scholarly endeavors at the University of Pittsburgh Joseph M. Katz Graduate School of Business, attaining a Master of Business Administration in 1998.

As a commitment to his field, Dr. Singh has been licensed to practice medicine in the states of Georgia, Kansas, Missouri, Pennsylvania, Michigan and California, and has been board certified in clinical and anatomic pathology, as well as immunopathology via the American Board of Pathology. Additionally, he has been active with several industry-related organizations, including the American Association for Clinical Chemistry, the College of American Pathologists, the American Association for the Advancement of Science, the United States and Canadian Academy of Pathology, The American Society for Histocompatibility and Immunogenetics, and the Academy of Clinical Laboratory Physicians and Scientists, among others. In his career-related endeavors, Dr. Singh has published over 150 peer-reviewed articles and contributed to various book chapters and scholarly publications.

Noted for his achievements in the field, Dr. Singh has received multiple awards, including the Gold Award for Outstanding Contribution to Science, the Silver Star Award and the Applause Award. Additionally, he has been ranked number one as a doctor and a pathologist by HealthTap Inc. Among his professional accomplishments, he is most proud of attaining federal funding for over 15 grants, achieving all his accolades, and mentoring the undergraduate students and residents in his specialty. Moreover, Dr. Singh takes pride in discovering two novel genes in lung, and that identified a sub-type of multiple myeloma and defined its biological importance and diagnostic criteria.

Reflecting on a long career, Dr. Singh attributes much of his success to his innate abilities and to his father, who served as a high school teacher and instilled in him the importance of education. Looking toward the future, he aims to continue his clinical research on multiple myeloma to further advance treatment options and care information. Additionally, Dr. Singh aspires to write a book about Punjab, India.
