During the early stages of her career, Ms. Torchiana gained valuable experience in various positions with AstraZeneca Pharmaceuticals, including marketing manager, commercial learning sales training manager, learning implementation leader for sales strategy, contract sales force operations specialist, and program leader for global e-learning. It was during her decade-long career with AstraZeneca where she met and hired Dr. Paul Elliott of Exemplary Performance. Astounded by the results they achieved for the sales force, Ms. Torchiana spent the next 10 years under his apprenticeship at various consulting firms before acquiring the company.
Driven to remain abreast of changes in the field, Ms. Torchiana aligns herself with the International Society for Performance Improvement (ISPI), through which she has served as a guest speaker and peer-reviewed published author. Given her deep experience in pharmaceutical sales, she is a regular contributor to the Life Sciences Trainers & Educators Network (LTEN) and has authored numerous other industry publications.
Ms. Torchiana holds a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology and a Business Minor from The Pennsylvania State University. Subsequently, she expanded upon her technical knowledge by earning a Master of Science in Cardiac Rehabilitation and Exercise Science from East Stroudsburg University. Ms. Torchiana has also made a name for herself as a USA Triathlon duathlete, earning All-America status, three National Championships, and World podium finishes for Team USA.
