Mr. Jimenez is currently a corporate trainer and works in the healthcare space for a nonprofit community health organization that provides affordable medical, dental, and behavioral health services to individuals throughout the communities of San Diego County. Aside from his professional development, leadership development, and process improvement responsibilities, he focuses on various soft skills, such as customer service, effective communication, and diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging. He presents classes both in-person and across virtual classroom platforms. He also designs eLearnings for more than 2700 healthcare workers.
Attributing more than 15 years of success to his career as a trainer, he has earned the MSI Institute's Corporate Trainer Certified® recognition as well as a Black Belt in Lean Six Sigma, a way of looking at and implementing process improvement across a variety of industries.
Before his distinguished career in the health care sector, Mr. Jimenez became recognized as an award-winning journalist who had appeared on Dateline NBC, Good Morning America, The Today Show, and other media outlets. His appearances on these and many other news programs was because of his work as the editor of the San Diego weekly newspaper "Update." Prior to his work in print and television, Mr. Jimenez had a career in radio, at stations like KFMB 760 AM, KBNN 100.1 FM, KMLO 107.1 FM, in California and KGWY 100.7 in Wyoming. Continuing his work in media, Mr. Jimenez currently owns Cloud Sports Network (CSN), a live-streaming company dedicated to providing free live streaming of amateur sports by and for the queer community and its allies. To date, CSN has amassed an audience of over 4 million viewers. For CSN Roman serves as both play-by-play and in-game analyst.
In addition to his notable journalistic and broadcast accomplishments, Mr. Jimenez has written three plays for the stage. His first, "Searching for Mr. Right," a romantic comedy, was produced and sold out its extended run at San Diego's Diversionary Theatre in 2008. His second play, "Atascadero," is the true story about how queer people were previously treated in state mental hospital systems across the United States. It was named a Top 10 Finalist by the American Association of Community Theater Playwrights in 2021. His third play, "81 Words," a true story of the forces that came together to propel the American Psychiatric Association to re-classify "Homosexuality" in the Diagnostic and Statistics Manual, is still under development.
