A skilled fan developer with more than three decades of excellence in sales and sales training, Mr. Urban has earned distinction as a senior consultant with Curated Fans, the first consulting company representing ceiling fan manufacturers in Taiwan to U.S. customers. Since 2022, he has focused his efforts on collaborating with factories to connect their products with specific customers, corresponding with those customers to ensure they are receiving accurate updates until finishing the project. He operates within the confines of complete trust and ethics, allowing each customer and factory to understand precisely what to expect from his services.
Also dedicated to civil advocacy, Mr. Urban is the founder and director of the Woodsmen Foundation, which he established in 2000 to formalize donations from the Woodsmen Golf Tournaments held at the Redwood City Elks Lodge's Emerald Hills Golf Course. He was also named an honorary Taichung Volunteer Fire Captain by the Taichung Volunteer Fire Department in 2019.
Prior to his current role, Mr. Urban was a National Sales Manager for the Tacony Corporation's Regency Ceiling Fans in 1989. Following this time, he worked in Product Development and Sales for Monte Carlo Fans in 2012, single-handedly returning the brand to prominence. Notably, he helped develop the world-renowned Slider fan, aka Maverick in the U.S., that became very popular at Monte Carlo Fans, before being purchased, and the brand being absorbed into a lighting company. Before embarking on his professional journey, Mr. Urban earned a Bachelor of Arts in Sports Administration as a member of the National Jesuit Honor Society from the University of San Francisco in 1989.
Looking to the future, Mr. Urban intends to continue developing ceiling fans using hand-finished real wood blades and uplighting, and advancing smart fans. He utilizes proprietary wood blades for the most popular fan models, creating them in factories in Taiwan, all family businesses that he's collaborated with his entire career.
