As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

Mr. Collins is a licensed architect, and Principal and Director at Partner Energy, a nationwide energy efficiency and sustainability company, where since 2012, he has excelled at managing a team of architects, engineers, and building scientists, and handling a multimillion-dollar portfolio of annual business contracts. The firm offers sustainable design consultation and expertise in green building protocols, as well as guidance toward the successful completion of green certifications related to new construction and the renovation of existing structures. Through his distinguished position, Mr. Collins leads best practices and design direction for new projects that include multifamily housing (affordable and market-rate), commercial spaces, and high-end performance buildings.

Deep industry experience is foundational to Mr. Collins' professional contributions. From 1999 to 2000, he was a Designer with Moore Ruble Yudell Architects and Planners, after which he accepted the title of Senior Designer with Hellmuth, Obata, and Kassabaum. In 2004, he transitioned to the rank of Project Manager with Studio One Eleven before becoming a Partner with Greenside LLC in 2009. Subsequently, Mr. Collins was proud to join Partner Energy, first in 2012 as a Senior Project Manager before progressing to the role of Technical Director for the sustainability and green certifications team between 2016 and 2022.

Mr. Collins credits the example and encouragement of his father and his uncle, who was himself an esteemed architect, as instrumental in his success. Driven by a desire to work as an architect and his passion for construction, Mr. Collins earned exceptional academic credentials, including a Bachelor of Architecture from Cornell University, which he completed in 1998. Mr. Collins subsequently pursued graduate studies at the University of California, Los Angeles, earning a Master of Architecture II, with a specialty in Urban Design in 1999. Mr. Collins received his architecture license in the State of California in 2006.

Distinct industry certifications further define Mr. Collins' professional profile. He earned his LEED Accredited Professional (BD+C) certification from the Green Building Certification Institute in 2003. In 2007, Mr. Collins became a Certified Sustainable Building Advisor through the National Sustainable Building Advisor Program. In 2017, he earned both the Green Globes assessor – existing buildings and the certified Green Globes professional credentials from The Green Building Initiative, an international nonprofit organization dedicated to reducing climate impacts.

Mr. Collins is equally as committed to building both a local and regional civic presence; to this end, he maintains memberships in the American Institute of Architects, the US Green Building Council, and the National Organization of Minority Architects; for the latter, he served as the president of the Southern California Chapter between 2018 and 2021. Moreover, Mr. Collins was a founding co-chair of the Long Beach branch of the U.S. Green Building Council from 2010 to 2016 and humbly served as a member of the advisory board for The HomeFree Champions of the Healthy Building Network. Mr. Collins currently sits on the Board of Directors for the AIA Long Beach South Bay Chapter.

A deep commitment to higher education remains a central aspect of Mr. Collins' contributions, and he was gratified to serve as a volunteer teacher of architecture to middle and high school students through the National Organization of Minority Architects Project Pipeline Summer Camp. Working with the same organization, he also launched a leadership development program to offer focused training programs to young minority architects seeking advancement in the field. From 2009 to 2015, Mr. Collins was on the faculty of Long Beach City College, teaching at the rank of adjunct professor, and he held a concurrent instructor position with the National Sustainable Building Advisor Program from 2008 to 2015.

Mr. Collins is dedicated to exceptional service and driven by a desire to mentor others seeking comparable success in the field. He credits family members' exemplary model and unwavering support as well, including his father and grandfather, both of whom were successful business leaders. Notably, Mr. Collins aims to impart the same level of persistence and dedication to his own daughter.

Numerous accolades have marked Mr. Collins' career achievements thus far and include the 2022 American Institute of Architects Los Angeles Presidential Robert Kenard Award for Diversity, Equity and Inclusion, an honor that recognizes his influence on environmentally conscious construction across the industry. Mr. Collins was also awarded the 2021 Presidential Honor from the National Organization of Minority Architects for his service to the organization and support of its growth. Looking toward the future, Mr. Collins will persist in designing buildings that make an impact and benefit underserved communities, and he plans to research and write a book to share his deep knowledge with others.
