Dr. Feuerstein is a board-certified family medicine physician and professor of clinical medicine with more than 15 years of expertise in integrative and complementary therapies. He studied business management at the Cambridge University going on to earn a Doctor of Medicine from the University of London. In 1999, Dr. Feuerstein entered the Israeli Navy, where he served for four years as a submarine and special operations ship combat physician. Following his military service, he relocated to the United States to continue his medical training with an internship and residency at Columbia University/ Stamford Hospital family medicine residency program, where he was named chief resident in his final year of training. Dr. Feuerstein completed two year fellowship in integrative medicine by the University of Arizona under the supervision of Dr. Andrew Weil in 2007.
Between 2008 and 2022, Dr. Feuerstein acted as director of integrative medicine at Stamford Hospital, consulting patients on therapeutic options for chronic conditions including nutritional support, herbal medicine, acupuncture, and hypnosis. He has been an attending physician at Greenwich Hospital since 2011, and maintains a clinical practice as a microbiome consultant for WithHealth and a physician for Zoe Wellness Centers of America. Dr. Feuerstein has treated more than 45,000 patients over the course of his career, and is recognized as one of the leading voices in gut microbiome management as a strategy for treating autoimmune, mood, and metabolic disorders.
In addition to his clinical work, Dr. Feuerstein is an assistant professor of clinical medicine at Columbia University, where he has been a faculty member since 2013. He also teaches at the University of Arizona and Quinnipiac University and has published more than 30 peer-reviewed papers as well as two cookbooks.
